We are going to wdw in a few weeks :cool1: I am looking for a stroller for my son he is 40" and 41lbs. Last year we brought an umbrella stroller that did not recline and it was torture when he feel asleep in it.:scared: So I am looking for a stroller that would be good for his size that reclines and has some storage. Any suggestions on which kind would work?

Maclaren Quest! They hold up to 50 pounds and can accomodate a larger child. They are a bit pricey but worth the money to us. Perhaps you could find one used or borrow from someone if you would only be using it a few times:)

what is your price range? Mac quest or triumph are good strollers but seem to be tippy and small hood. joovy groove is a good choice with a large hood for shade. some others to look at ingelsina, chico, zoooper. most reclining umbellas will be over $100. Or if you don't need one at home check out orlandostrollerrentals.com.

Not really worried to much about price since it will get use with our next child due in Oct. I was looking at the mclaren on their site. I guess I'll have to make a trip to go and look at one since the closest store for one is 30 miles away :scared1:

I was thinking the canopies on the other maclarens looked small . Do you think the storage on the joovy groove is big enough looks kind of small?

We looked at a lot of lower-end ($40-70 range) reclining umbrellas and had the same issue with nearly all of them - they have a lap belt restraint with the strap between the legs, but not a 5 point harness. Our DD is 8mo, so a 5 point harness was a must. The Chicco Capri ($70) was the one we decided on as a back-up plan if I couldn't get a good deal on a more expensive stroller. I shop a lot of consignment stores and mom-to-mom resales, so my goal was a used MacLaren or something comparable for under $100.

For us, cost was a big factor because DD is our last little one, so I couldn't justify the $200 for the MacLaren Quest or the Baby Planet strollers I really liked. Both of those are very nice, good height, easy roll and easy fold. The sunshades on both are smallish, but that's easy enough to work around if needed.

But the stroller I absolutely love is the one I ended up buying second hand - a Peg Perego Pliko. I'd never have spent the $300 retail price for it for a last baby, but if I had stumbled across it when my first was young I'd have considered it money well spent. It is so easy to use, has an interchangeable tray and bar for across the front that swings open (super-easy for getting a sleeping baby out without waking her!), the harness is like nothing I've ever seen before (a 5 point that lets baby sit up and look around), and the sun shade extends almost all the way down to the tray (great for naps or guarding against the FL sun). Mine is a 2004 model; the new ones are even cooler with a zipper to attach a rain or bug guard to the canopy.

Do you think the Peg Perego Pliko will be big enough for my child 40" 41lbs? I cannot seem to find any info on their site about size limits??

We have the Peg P3. LOVE it. It's a great stroller. My dd is 5, 44 lbs and 44 inches. She fits in it. Now, I'm not sure she would be super comfy in it full days at Disney but she fits. I think the Pegs have a 40 lb weight limit? I'm not sure, though. We have a Mac double and really really love it. I think for an older kid one of the Macs might be a better bet.

Weird, I don't see a size limit either, not on the web site and not in the user guide that came with it. My 7yo (45lb, 48") DD was messing around with it and wanted a ride. It pushed fine with her in it on a smooth floor, but she's too tall for the canopy. She fits better in the seat than on the ride-on footpads, because on those she's too tall for me to see over her! :rotfl:

I think I'm going to get a Maclaren XLR. Seems to be a pretty large umbrella stroller and they are on ebay for a decent price THANKS

I just got a Mac Quest, I bought a 2008 model for about $150, there are plenty of deals like that on new ones, just not current colors. I think you can get the Triumph for as low as $100.

I previously had a cheapie Combi (like $60 full price) and it's nice to have upgraded! The Combi was short and didn't steer well. The Mac is so much easier to push and handles all the bumpy sidewalks here better. I like the one-handed fold of the Mac. Both had skimpy hoods, I see a lot of people use the Kiddopatamous shade with them:
