Stroller questions for upcoming trip

Our boys will be 6.5 and 3 on our next trip. For our past few trips we have used a double stroller, but last year it was definitely pushing the limits weight-wise and it was somewhat difficult to steer with them both in it.

So this year, I thought we might rent the double strollers that Disney has. I knew the daily prices were $30-ish, but had heard people mention length-of-stay rentals at reduced prices. Well, I was a bit shocked when I saw what the "reduced" prices were, $200+ for our 8 days.

What I'm thinking about is possibly doing a single stroller rental for our stay, which is right around $100.

The questions I have are:

How much of a hassle is getting your stroller in the mornings/dropping them off in the evenings? (I'm guessing much less than dealing with strollers on the buses)

I'm wondering if in a pinch, say at closing with 2 wiped out boys, if they would both be able to ride for a short period (3 y/o on 6.5 y/o's lap for instance) or perhaps that's going to be too much weight? We know each will be able to walk some, and we will have anywhere from 4 - 6 adults in our party during the week, but also know there's no way we can expect the 6.5 y/o to be doing all the walking that we do on our WDW trips.

Right now DS(almost 6) is 41 lbs and "little brother" DS2 is 39.5 lbs.

Or maybe it's just a case of someone knowing of a heavy duty double stroller that can handle probably 90-ish lbs?

We are liking the idea of not having to deal with a stroller at the airports and on the buses for the first time in many many years, but definitely don't want to take out a second mortgage to pay for a stroller rental (man that would be a great business to be in).

TIA

How about 2 single strollers? Our last trip my kids were turning 2 and 3. We went with 2 single stroller. It so much better. Personally I wont attempt a double stroller in disney and I wont pay the rental prices. You can even pick them up cheap and uses (craigslist, etc) and dont bring them back with you. Find someone to swap with when you leave or leave them there.

This summer the kids will be 4 and 5. I am bringing the 2 single strollers again.

The singles just made it so much easier if one kid had to go to the bathroom, or one parent wants to go to a different place etc.

If your 6 year old is going to be able to do most of the walking I would just go with the single stroller. My 8 year old and her 6 year old cousin fit in the single stroller and it pushed fine. I just wouldn't get the single if the older one is going to be in it a lot. It will be tight but totally doable for a short amount of time.

Whether you choose single or double, you might want to look into doing on outside stroller rental.
We just rented from Magic Strollers and loved the baby jogger citi mini that they rent.
The service was wonderful, they clean & disinfect every stroller after rental, it comes with a parent organizer and a rain cover upon request. It pushes and turns great (even with a weight difference in a double), it big enough for a big kid, full recline, large sun shade and good storage.
The biggest selling point for us is the unbelievably easy fold, light weight and compact when folded. It was the easiest stroller we've used on the buses (we did 2 singles last time and it was too much hassle for us). And the price can't be beat.
Their double would accommodate both your kids if you choose to go that route.
