We've always brought our own but this trip I am going with a friend and her son ... no DH ... first time ever to do something like this...

We are thinking of just renting a stroller at the park. Does anyone know if they have "stroller hopping" meaning if I rent one at MK and go to AKL ...do I pay for another stroller rental at AKL? Just curious how that works so I know before I get there.

You just need to save your receipt and you can get a stroller from another park on the same day for no additional cost...at least that's what I've heard.
Can anyone confirm?

That is correct! But remember, when you rent the first stroller, it is at the beginning of the day. When you park hop, the park you go to may not have any strollers left for you to take, making that receipt for a stroller worthless. The best advice with strollers is bring your own, if you can.

I was planning to rent for this trip, but after reading everything I could find on the subject and having my DD tell me NO WAY was she walking, decided to bring our own stroller. Of course, I don't actually have a stroller right now. I ended up ordering an Eddie Bauer stroller like the one they are using in the stroller swap. I figured if it has lasted as long and well, and the variety of kids it has served for the past year, that is the best testimonial. And it was very reasonably priced.

The only years we brought our own was when our children were infants. Now that they're older- 2 and 4- we rent. Yes, you can save your receipt and get another one at a different park that same day if you park hop. We've been 3 times during Thanksgiving- very busy time- and they've never run out. We always waited until after lunch to hop and always got a stroller. One year at Epcot they had run out of the newer ones, but they had the old ones for use and they were fine. You will get many different opinions on this one! We just don't like lugging a stroller on and off the buses. Yes, the kids were tired a couple of nights and we ended up carrying them two/five nights, but we still prefer not to deal with the stroller on the bus anymore. Good luck deciding!

In addition to saving your receipt, at the end of the day take your stroller back to where you got it and they might give you a Disney Dollar for bringing it back. (As opposed to just leaving it somewhere in the park when you're done with it-which makes more work for them.)

They were doing this as of our last trip-March 2003. I don't know if they are still doing this now though..does anyone who's been there more recently know???

Thanks everyone for all the info...that is helpful. Plus, it will give the kids an incentive to want to bring it back. And, if they don't give them one, guess I will be buying some at the hotel to hand out. :bounce: Well worth it.

We are leaving in two days ... first strip without a stroller. We will see what happens. It will be a trial run for this November.
