Can anyone recommend a double stroller that will seat a younger child and a 6 year old with longer legs and weighing about 48 pounds? If not a double than a single stroller that will work for the 6 year old?

I would HIGHLY recommend the Maclaren double strollers. They hold 55 pounds per seat...even more! I have a Maclaren Twin Traveller (now called Twin Techno) and it is GREAT! I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old. I bought this stroller about a year ago and LOVE it! It folds nice and compact and DH worries about getting it on and off the trams. It has two baskets underneath, which is great. It has separate canopies for each seat and it also comes with raincovers, too. (and even boots for the winter months, if you want to use them!) It's a great stroller. You can find deals on ebay. I bought mine brand new for $160...and the stroller retails for $379!

Do all of the Maclaren double strollers hold 55 pounds per seat or just the Twin Techno?

They all should hold to 55lbs, but they're a bit narrow in the seat.

Many double jogger style strollers will work with that age spread, though.

Here's a double jogger avail on-line at Wal-Mart for around $160 right now. Its the Schwinn double jogger. Thats an incredible price. We have the same one and its a great stroller. I think it holds 120 lbs. combined. The swivel front wheel is a nice feature- it makes the stroller very maneuverable and not that long and bulky like other joggers that have the wheel out front. There are a few other models too avail. at Wal-Mart online right now- they're excellent prices. We paid about $220 for ours a year ago...

Six is about the point when most kids will stop really needing a stroller. You might also consider using a single with a Buggy Board.

What do people think is a Front-Back or a Side-by-Side configuration best?

Is the Doubel Jogging stroller too big for malls and WDW type places?

Does anybody have a Sit-n-Stand or a Joovy Caboose? I am now leaning toward that being my best option since DD (2 years old) doesn't like her present stroller and she might like this type of thing.
