Stroller question ~ LOL ~ ANOTHER ONE!?!?!?

Hi, last April, ds was 15 months old and we bought a great new stroller for him for WDW trip. We are going again this April, he'll be almost 2.5 years old. dh thinks we should just take a cheap umbrella stroller from home (we are flying and have several umbrella strollers). I want to take the stroller we bought last year. The stroller we bought is a med size, easy to fold, big basket, has a nice canopy and reclines. It has two great trays and three cup holders. I love it! dh thinks less is more, so he wants the umbrella stroller. We will be toting 2 kids, a big car seat, stroller, 2 big suitcases and 4 carry-ons! THX S

You will be able to put 1 kid, hang some carry ons stuff the basket with whatever and hold your beverages all in one place. Plus, the canopy will keep the sun off the little one. The basket and cup holders alone would do it for me as far as which to take into the park! have fun!

My vote is for the stroller your little one will sleep better in and can eat in. Plus you can fit more in the basket of the bigger one. I have a 2.5 year old DS and that's the stroller I would pick!

The only time a bigger stroller is more of a pain is when you're getting on and off buses in WDW. Plus if you're carrying that much anyway, what's a few more stroller pounds?

I would take your midsize stroller. You can carry more stuff in it. Umbrella strollers have a tendancy to tip over backwards if the child gets out, and bags, etc. are hanging off of the back of the stroller. Also, I think your DS will be much more comfortable in the bigger stroller for the occasional catnaps. The umbrella strollers don't have much back support (kind of like sitting in a hammock all day).

How tall is hubby and will he be pushing the stroller all day? I'm just about 6' and I can push a regular stroller all day. Every umbrella stroller I've ever seen requires me to bend just a *little* to push it. It's not bad for a little while, but pushing it all day kills my back.

We did trips at the same ages as your trips (ok, will be doing the 2.5yr old one soon) Anyway, we did not even consider taking an umbrella stroller for a few reasons. The larger stroller would just be more comfortable as (I am assuming) larger seat area, better sun shade, cup holders, basket, less tippy. If you gate check it and change planes you can either put the kid in the stroller and put your arms through straps so it hangs on back like a backpack to go from gate to gate or put the car seat on the stroller to go from gate to gate (I am assuming you will use seat on plane) I think for the little bit of space you will be saving by going with the umbrella, it just isn't worth it.
