Stroller question I haven't seen asked...

Hi -- I haven't SEEN it asked, but it MIGHT have been...

Anyway: I want to pay for the week for a single stroller on my first day. Only one child will be riding at a time, but two kids will take turns. However, because of the wildcard footwear we'll be wearing on MNSSHP night, I want a DOUBLE stroller for one night only.

Will they let me "mix it up" this way and still get the break on price?

Does anyone have experience with this? I know it is a GOOFY question, but the Ruby Slippers are not the most comfortable in the world, and I'm afeared I will create blisters on the little tike if she hikes around in them all night!

Any advice appreciated!!

You can't mix it up, because you're pre-paying. What I would do is just take one day off the single stroller days. So if you're thinking of getting 7 days of single stroller, just get 6 days and then pay for the double on MNSSHP day.

From what I'm hearing and reading, some people have gotten a stroller on MNSSHP for free. You might not even have to pay :)

we rented single strollers this summer and when we wanted a double, they just stamped two of the days. So, if you are there for 5 days, rent for 6 days to get the double the one day.

I have also seen and heard of free strollers on nights of MNSSHP and MVMCP. Not sure of size of strollers. We have no kids so did not look into it further but when we attended both parties over the past few years, we saw CM just passing strollers out to people that needed them.

IS there any way that you can get a white pair of sneakers & decorate them w/ a hot glue gun with rubies? The dressy shoes are SO hard for the girls to wear.

My girls have Princess sneakers and I will use a Mr Clean Sponge on them to "whiten" them up for MNSSHP. They will wear them w/ their dresses.

Yep, the strollers are FREE the nights of MNSSHP and you can get whatever size or however many as you need! If you prepay, be sure not to include that day unless you are also doing a park during the day.

I second this one. I know how sore my feet get sometimes if I have on socks that rub or sandels that rub. The ruby slippers may look cute, but if you child will have extra sore feet with blisters afterward, they just wouldn't be worth it to me.

I would get a pair of white sneakers---Keds or just the Target brand. Instead of hot-gluing rhinestones on----which is expensive, time consuming, "burn-inducing" and they'll probably fall off, especially if they get wet---I would get a big bottle of red glitter fabric paint. You can do 2 or 3 coats to really make them sparkle. It's much cheaper, they can get wet, and they'll be comfy! You can even get red ribbon to replace the laces so they'll look "fancier"--(I would avoid satin ribbon as it doesn't stay tied very well.) She can even wear the shoes afterwards with jeans or to play in. Just my .02!!! Did the "Dorothy" thing with my DD not too long ago!!! Have fun! Kathy :earsgirl:

OK So how do you go about paying for the stroller rental for the whole week? How much does it save you? I am probably going to get a double- w/ 3 kids (2 can walk- 1 is just a baby) they can take turns riding if they get tired. :moped:

How big of a child can fit in a rented stroller? I have no kids but I am going with 2 nieces and 1 nephew. If I remember correctly, the strollers were quite large and I remember some relatively older kids in them.

If you can get free stroller for MNSSHP can you get a free wheelchair, my son who is 12 yrs old has a club foot and his legs get tried.

Thanks

I would say about a 6 or 7 year old depending on their size.

Tell the stroller CM that you want a Length-of-stay ticket. You tell them how many days you want it for and you prepay it. You save 10% off the day-to-day rental price.

The CM will give you the tickets strung together stapled to your receipt. Hold on to these. Each day you want to use a stroller, just give your ticket to the CM at the pickup queue, and the CM will stamp the date on a ticket. You totally bypass the line to pay which is a great timesaver in itself. If you're hopping to another park, just bring your name tag, and show them the receipt and the ticket, and pick up another stroller.

It's really nice in the morning when the parks open, cause you can bypass the long line of people waiting to pay, and you get out of there faster.

The very first time you rent a stroller in a park, tell the CM how many days' rental you want. He/she will give you a strip of rental passes, stapled to your receipt. At that time, you will be charged for each day, minus a 10% discount.

The passes are identical among parks -- in other words, there aren't MK passes, MGM passes, etc. Each time you use one of the passes, the CM will stamp it with that day's date. When you return the stroller, you get a DIsney Dollar in return for handing in that stamped pass. Long story, but since the first time I rented the CM stamped the pass at the top of the strip, the pass that was actually stapled to the receipt, I didn't hand in my passes until the last day, and then got 6 Disney Dollars in return for the 6 stamped (used) passes. If you are park hopping, make sure you don't turn in that day's stamped pass. You will use that stamped pass to get your rental stroller at the next park you hop to.

I paid for 7 days' rental of a double stroller ($95.20 after the discount), but I only used 6 days. Silly me, I didn't realize unused passes are fully refundable. I had it sitting on my night table for months, and a few weeks ago I put it up for auction on eBay -- I'm still waiting for the high bidder to send payment.

The CMs make stroller rental easy as pie, even when it's crowded. The crowds tend to be in the payment line, not the pick-up line. Thus, another advantage to the multi-day rental is not having to wait in the payment line after your initial payment on that first day.
