Was in the World a couple of weeks ago on a solo trip. Being alone, I was able to notice things I would not usually notice. I could not believe the things people left in strollers. Tons of Disney mister fans, really nice cooler bags, Disney sacks of all sizes, etc, etc. Why would anyone leave all this stuff unattended? We have always taken everything out of the stroller and with us to prevent loss. Anyone else ever notice this?

While I didn't notice other people, since we had 2 strollers of our own, I can speak for us. We carried everything of real value; money, room cards, tickets, camera etc... in a bag with us wherever we went. We left the diaper bag with replacable items in the stroller. With 3 kids in tow we would rather replace the diaper bag then drag it everywhere. We haven't had any problems.

i've noticed it... and it warms my heart to think that such a safe magical place still exists in this world... it's one of the things i like about disney!

I was just thinking the same thing! Who's going to steal in Disney!? Last time we kept money etc on us and left everything else. I remember just covering it up with the diaper bag. ::yes::

Unfortunately they do! A couple of months ago, 2 people reported having something stolen out of their strollers. We too left stuff in the bottom that could easily be replaced, but other than that, I wouldn't risk it.

We were just there last week and I noticed that people left stuff in their strollers as well--mostly diaper bags, it seemed. I don't think anyone leaves anything of value in them. We left our stroller several times to ride the Walt Disney RR around the park, came back, and the stroller--and it's contents--nothing of value--we carried a backpack--was undisturbed every time. Generally speaking, Disney seems to bring out the best in people.

:earsboy:

We left a Disney misting fan in the stroller once. I went on the tea cups with my daughter while my father-in-law stayed by the stroller and watched.

A woman approached, grabbed the fan, and gave it to her daughter. My father-in-law chased after her and explained that was his fan. The woman mumbeled something about thinking it was abandoned and took it back from her daughter.

Her daughter was probably 7 or 8. Her mom is setting a great example.

I lost my diamond necklace on the safari ride at AK, we waited until our bus came back around. and the nicest man had found it and turned it in to a CM!! The CM said we were very lucky! Then she started telling us about "gypsies" that would come through and like a wave would steal stuff out of strollers-- and no one would have seen anything. She says this happens very rarely, but it does happen! SHAME ON THEM!

I guess we have been lucky...we usually take our back pack with us but leave lots of stuff in the stroller and have never had anything taken....But I also tend to see things through rose colored glasses alot of times and think everyone is always honest......haha. :cloud9:

Are you kidding? I've been thinking about how to lug the stroller ONTO the ride!

We always leave stuff in our stroller & have never had a problem. :D

However, by posting this, I'm propably jinxing myself.

I hate to say it but I'm not surprised.... It is really disappointing.

We often end up leaving items like shopping bags with purchases. Generally we always tried to bring the backpack which has our wallet and digital camera but I confess once or twice we left it hooked on the stroller, by accident  We were always holding our breath a little when we exited the ride, hoping the bag would still be there when we returned. In any case, every time you leave something it is of course a calculated risk, and we are aware of that.... I'm not naive, I do know stealing does happen at Disney but I think it is a little safer than some places... When it comes to leaving recently purchased souviners in the stroller, which I do, I'm just making a trade, of risk versus convenience-- risk losing the goods or haul a bunch of bags on every ride... in that case I take the risk. It's all about what you're willing to risk and what can't be replaced. Souveniers, even the stroller can be replaced.... a wallet and a digital camera full of our vacation pictures, or a beloved child's lovey, can't be replaced so generally we never leave them behind (at least on purpose).
