So we are about to leave for Disney World in a few days and I am worried about our stroller getting stolen. The only thing I am planning on leaving is a wet bag with dirty diapers (we are using cloth) in the bottom, taking everything else with us. It is not necessarily an expensive stroller, just a chicco car seat and stroller frame. I would just be more upset because we really need the car seat! I heard about getting a stroller lock and just using it to lock one of the wheels to itself, but lately I have been finding where people are saying you can use locks period even if you don't lock it to an object. So do I need a lock, can I use a lock, or do I just need to relax because no one is going to take that type of stroller and dirty diapers? LOL!!!!

We have been to Disney 3 times and never had an issue with our stroller getting stollen. Now the CM may move your stroller to make room for more strollers and then u have to really look for it lol that has happened to us on several occasions. But I think if u buy a balloon and tie it to the stroller it will be easier to locate!

If I wanted to steal your stroller, a diaper bag wouldn't deter me; I'd just toss it aside. Don't worry about it; it's unlikely someone will steal your stroller.

I bought a stroller lock for our recent trip and never used it. Really wish I'd left it in the package so I could get a refund for it. We had a City Mini GT, so definitely a pricey stroller.

Tips:
  • Park your stroller in areas that are specifically set aside as stroller parking. Less chance of it being moved more than a few inches by a CM. (They do push them tightly together)
  • Wrap some ribbon around the handles of your stroller to set it apart. I bought a $1 pinwheel to attach to our stroller since you can't use a balloon at Animal Kingdom, but after the first day, I was pairing down everything I could to cut down on extras to carry on the trams, I decided to leave it behind. The ribbons worked fine. I chose green and brown ribbons. Most people picked girly colors and a lot of folks had the Minnie Mouse white/red polka dot pattern. So I'd go with a non-Disney type color.
  • If you're going during rainy season, buy a real stroller cover for your stroller. Don't depend on a plastic table cloth. Saw so many of those blowing around getting kids and parents wet it wasn't funny while our son was perfectly happy behind the stroller cover we had - and bonus, it stayed down while parked so our stuff stayed dry and had nice velcro so we could roll it up when the rain stopped.
  • At night, bring some Dollar Store glow necklaces with you to 1. give to the kid to avoid pricey park ones and 2. wrap others around your stroller handles. Really sets it apart and makes it SO much easier to find when it's dark.

You can use a lock. You can't lock your stroller to anything, and it must be done in a way that the CMs can still move it if need be.
