Nah, not moved. It was a cheapo umbrella stroller both times, so no real loss besides sentimental value. This happened 3 years ago...
It was on the same trip. For my daughter's 1st birthday, we decided to take her to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party. We had bought tickets for myself, my wife, her parents, and my parents.
We arrived earlier than the rest, and my daughter had taken a liking to a Mickey balloon, so we purchased it for her and tied it to the balloon. We always add something to signify our stroller....along with the tied on balloon, we had our last name written on the bottom, and a flashing pen tied to the handle. Once the rest of our group arrived, we went to Small World. I parked the stroller outside, near the attendant.
......as an aside just for a moment, I can understand why they have the attendant there, but why do they have to constantly move the strollers and classify them? If you put it near the entrance of the ride, it should be at least near the same place, but with the attendant moving 100+ strollers, it gets hard.
Alright, back to the story. So we exit the ride. My wife hangs on to our girl and I go get the stroller. It's gone. I describe it to the attendant, who at first brushes me off and says "THE STROLLERS ARE ARRANGED BY TYPE". Yes, I could see that, but my stroller was not there. I get the attendant's attention again and he says to go check at the other stroller area, which if I recall was near the Tomorrowland entrance. I ask why they would move it over there, and he says that if they are crowded they move them.
So I go to look at the other stroller area. I got excited as I found what I thought was our stroller, until I got closer. It was the same umbrella type with the underwater print, but it had different colored grips, and no pen, umbrella, or name. For a moment I thought about taking it, but my guilt got the best of me and I left it there.
My father in law was furious though. I was just disappointed that someone had taken a stroller. They could have had the same stroller and bought the same balloon, but I doubt they had a flashing pen on the handle.
We ended up carrying the baby all night, swapping between the grandparents and myself and my wife.
We checked in to our hotel room across from DD and called it a day. The next day I went over to Toys R Us near the Florida Mall since I had some gift card money to spend. I bought a pink umbrella stroller with a canopy. I wrote my last name on the canopy, and the bottom of the seat. We tied a good knot with a red ribbon near the bottom, where no one would care to look.
After personalizing the stroller, we headed out to Magic Kingdom in the morning.
We got through Adventureland, Frontierland, and headed to Fantasy Land. We parked the stroller somewhere near Peter Pan's flight. After we got off - new stroller was gone. I looked all over, asked attendant's, the usual. While looking about 30 feet from where our stroller was left, I found our ribbon on the ground. It had been cut off. This time, I was angry. Fool me once.
We rented a stroller for the rest of the day, bought my daughter her balloon on the way out and headed home. I was miserable for the rest of the day (stroller was gone around lunch).
After this, we had just gotten in the habit of taking our larger, more comfortable, less disposable strollers with us, but not before my paranoid self installed a bike lock. I don't actually lock the stroller TO anything. I just feed it through the frame and across the front wheels. I keep the key in my wallet.
I've had success with this so far, and have used it at SeaWorld and Universal many times. Truthfully, I feel much safer at Universal. Instead of a hundred strollers, there are maybe 10 in most spots. We have left souvenirs, refillable mugs, everything but wallets and purses in the stroller and have had no problems with theft at all.
Now I have two kids and use one of those Sit N Stand strollers. I always lock that up though, because we can't hold two kids all day.
The lock I use looks like this:
Bike lock on Amazon. I bought it at Walgreens for 5 dollars and comes with a mount.
I've learned my lesson though. I'll
rent a stroller at Disney.
