Stroller in restaurants?

Hi!
SO this will be our DD's first trip to Mickey's House! She will be 9 months old and we've had a hard time waiting this long to take her. We are planning on taking our own stroller and I'm wondering if we can keep her in the stroller at the restaruants or do we have to leave the stroller somewhere else? She will never sit in a highchair for long so I'm hoping we wont have to have her on our laps the whole time!

ALso, if anyone has any tips for dining in the world with a 9 month old please let me know

I don't know about all of the restaurants because we stayed off site, but we did eat dinner with Cinderella at 1900 Park Faire. Our 6 mos old was in her carseat that sat in the stroller. We left the stroller out on a covered porch with other strollers. They had her sit in a chair that accomodates her carseat, which was quite nice rather than a high chair that is usually square and she bobbles around in too much.
For the parks, we only ate at the restaurant beside It's A Small World and we wheeled both strollers in and sat them by our table. There were many others in there as well.
Everyone is very accomodating and they have already thought of these things that we worried so much about. I was so glad we brought both our stollers ... a big Graco that has the carseat too, and an Evenflo. We couldn't have done Disney without them.

Unless your child is sleeping in his/her stroller, you will be asked to park the stroller and bring the child in. Disney doesn't usually allow strollers inside the restaurants because it would be full of them. They take up a lot of space and could cause problems if there were too many of them.

You'll have a much better chance at being allowed to take the stroller inside if you eat at off hours, say, lunch at 2 pm. If the place is really empty, they are more likely to turn a blind eye, but they don't have to, so be prepared to either hold her or put her in a highchair.

I dunno. I think its a case by case basis. Things like.. what KIND of restaurant, and like mentioned.. the status of your child.

But I do know that Rainforest Cafe has a HUGE parking lot outside. But I think if you DID explain your situation and they werent packed they might allow it. I think they'd rather stick you in the corner with your stroller than have a crying 9mo old. And althought I parked my stroller at CP, I could see that there'd be room to stash one if needed.

We took our twin babies when they were 7 months old. We took our Graco double stroller into every restaurant we ate in (Nine Dragons, Portobello Yacht Club, etc.). We did pre-ask if it was okay, and everyone always said it was fine. They always found a table where we could comfortably fit the stroller. Someone above had a good point about not going at busy times -- we did in fact always eat our meals at odd times (2:00 or 3:00, etc.). Plus we went during value season, so the crowds were not too heavy.

If you really want to leave your child in a stroller, I would definitely take the suggestion of eating at "off" hours. Also, staying away from character meals would also help. It gets pretty crowded at those, and there isn't alot of room to manuveur strollers around with all the people, and the characters milling around.

We have gone with s 6mth old and a 9mth old. Hollywood & Vine told us no for the stroller in the rest and a couple of other ones in MGM. Most of the others allowed us we tried not to abuse it. If the rest was crowded we left it outside till they wouldn't sit in the high chair anymore. Chef Mickey was wonderful about it they gave us a table by a wall so we could park it at the end out of the way but our sons were very happy and comfy in their stroller.
As far as other tips pack each days outfits in a ziplock bag this way it's ready to go. Also if the baby has a messy diaper you can conseal it in the bag or you can put the dirty clothes in there till you get back to your room to wash. If you want other ideas you can PM me I'd be happy to help we have 4 kids age ranges 11,5, 2, and 1.

One other question, what are the highchairs like? Are they the wooden ones that done have a top or a 5 point harness? Or are they like the ones you have in your own home? Are they clean (straps esp)?

The highchairs are wooden ones, just like you'd see in the restaurants at home. They basically are just a raised up seat, with no tray. There really isn't any back support, which can be a problem if you have a young child who isn't very good at sitting up yet.

We always eat at the counter service restaurants, and always bring the stroller in with us. This way, we don't have to deal with waiting to be served. We do try to avoid the peak hours, so the atmosphere is more baby-friendly.
