Our 5 year old DD weighs 50 pounds. Our stroller gave out last year and we need another one for 2 Disney trips this year. We figured we could save money buying a stroller over renting. Although she walks quite a bit, it is a sanity saver at times just to push her. Anyone have an idea for a stroller for an older child? Thanks!

I have a Mac Quest for my DS4. He is 46 inches tall and weighs 56lbs. It was the best money we ever spent. He rarely uses a stroller at home but Disney is a different story. It is also easier for us if he is in a stroller as we also have a dd2, and ds1. I really didn't want to spend the money but it was totally worth it. If you don't care about reclining you can get a Mac Volo for much cheaper. The Mac's are rated to 55lbs. I let my ds try out a bunch of strollers, even more expensive ones and he liked the Quest best. It had the deepest seat. I hope this helps. princess:

Go with the Maclaren Volo. It weighs 11 lbs, and is great for big kids! :thumbsup2

I just bought the Maclaren Volo at Toys R Us last weekend for DD3 and I love it. She fits very comfortably in it...she is only 28 lbs so we still have a lot of time to use it. She doesn't ride very much...only at the mall and WDW.

Go with the Volo. I was in your situation last year. Had DD6 and while we didnt have a stroller at our house then, I knew she would need one at Disney and didnt want to rent. Could get one cheaper and use for our last year trip and the trip this Dec. Asked a bunch of questions on the dis and got great info. Went with the Maclaren Volo (got it for $68 shipping included- we bought a previous year model, still brand new in package). This stroller is great for the older child. HOlds up to 55 lbs, but I think it would do heavier weights. Pushes like a dream, even one handed. The handles are also very tall, a plus for my 6'2" DH and the material is great. It is a mesh material and when it rains or you have a spill it dries very quickly. It also has a carry handle to throw it over your shoulder. I just wish I had found this stroller years ago when I had my first. I think I would have saved tons of money over the years on cheap strollers.
