WILL BE IN WDW IN THE BEGINING OF AUGUST FOR 10 DAYS.MY DS/4 IS ABOUT 44" AND 47LBS.WE HARDLY USE A STROLLER FOR HIM ANYMORE BECAUSE HE IS TO BIG.THE UMBRELLA STROLLERS ARE TO SMALL,HIS KNEES :surfweb:  :cheer2: :rolleyes1 :yay: ARE UP NEAR HIS NOSE.I WAS LOOKING AROUND FOR A CHEAP STROLLER BUT WAS UNABLE TO FIND ONE TO FIT HIM.IF I DO NOT BRING A STROLLER FOR HIM HE'LL DRIVE US CRAZY IN THE PARKS AFTER WALKING AROUND ALL DAY.I WAS WOUNDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A STROLLER I CAN PURCHASE TO FIT HIM.I DO NOT WANT TO SPEND ALOT OF MONEY BECAUSE I WILL ONLY BE USING IT FOR THIS TRIP.I WAS THINKING ABOUT RENTING A DOUBLE STROLLER AT THE PARKS,BUT THEN I WOULD NOT HAVE A STROLLER WHEN WE ARE NOT AT THE PARKS.HOW MUCH DO THEY COST??

know you don't want to spend a lot of $$ but the Maclaren Quest Umbrella stroller is great. it folds up small like an umbrella stroller and holds up tp 55 lbs. my son is almost 5 and luvs it and it tilts back. It is pricey but well worth it. you definately need it outside of the parks...the walk from bus stops to parks can be so long for a preschooler.
I bought a left over 2005 version in pattern that must not have sold well [i didn't care what color it was just wanted to save as much as possible] on albeebaby for $139 compared to $199 at babies r us.
i cut back a little somewhere else to spurlge on the stroller. I also have a 2 year old so i will definately get my use out of it but you could always sell on ebay or a consignment shop near you. the one near me pays big $ for any kind of maclaren stroller.
hope this helps.

We found one at Target that worked perfectly for our 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year olds when we went in January and are using it again in May. It was about $90 and held up nicely. It also wasn't hard to get on and off the bus, folded nicely, and wasn't too heavy. It is an Evenflo. We opted against using umbrella strollers because this one had sunshades, cup holders, and a basket underneath for all the stuff.

Make sure you put something on your stroller to ID is easily.

My two cents since I thought about strollers WAY TOO MUCH before our trip. I took cheap second hand store umbrella strollers for my 4 & 6 year old, just as a tired leg backup. They haven't use stroller for years and are good little walkers, however, Disney is a different story. Even though the kids were a little too big 44 and 40 lbs and 44 and 42 inches they did just fine with these for the week. The kids walked a lot but we always use them for the Park-Bus-Room route. We parked the stroller in a general area we were in and then just moved them (Kids in or out) to the next area. We were very glad to have them just for the LONG walks not an all day all night deal. If they broke (they didn't) then I could rent.

I just went through this with my oldest son (almost 4) He is about 44 inches and around 50lbs. The poor kid looked so scrunched up in all the strollers we have including our double. We took the kids for a walk one day and I was pushing our oldest ds and dh was pushing the double with dd and ds#2 and he told me to just go get him whatever stroller he needs. The poor kid looked so uncomfortable. I ended up getting a Quest and even though it is super expensive it is well worth it. I hardly ever use a stroller for him but we need it at WDW. I also figure I will get plenty of use out of it with the other kids. He was so much more comfortable in it. I made him sit in all different strollers (less expensive!) and he kept going back to it and saying that it was the most comfortable. I know how you feel about the price but believe me- I researched this to death. The only other stroller that might have worked is the Kidco Lifestyle but I wanted to try it out first and they don't have them in our local Babies R Us. Good luck in whatever you chose. princess:

We just bought a Maclaren Volo, last year's model, for $90, for my DD who will be 4 when we go in July. It folds up umbrella sized, has a carrying strap already attached, and has a small basket in the bottom to stash stuff. It holds up to a 55 pound child, and pushes so easily. We looked into the other Maclarens but chose the Volo because it's the cheapest and lightest. You can get a new 2006 model online for about $105-110 total, depending on the website.

I have three kids (2, 4 and 5). I just bought a Baby Trend Sit and Stand stroller at Target for $119. My DD2 sits in front, and my DD4 is able to hop on and off in the back when she is tired. We have even tried it with my DD5 standing while DD4 is sitting in the back and this way we can push all three of them at the same time. We wouldn't do this too often, but if we have to go somewhere in a hurry or DD5 needs a rest from walking, it's nice to know that it is possible. For the most part, though, I think my two older daughters will just take turns riding. This stroller folds up easily and has a cup holder for the parents. I love it!

OK, so here is my situation. I'm nervous that my 6 1/2 yeart old (48 lbs, 47 inches) will want to ride for a while. I'm just not sure if any of these strollers are made for such a long, and slightly heavy kid. I've looked all the sites, and not many give weight restrictions, that I can see. Any of you have a bigger kid? My youngest who would be primarily using the stroller is almost 3, 30 lbs.

My DD5 (almost six) has no problem with the newer version of the Baby Trend Sit and Stand, but I don't know what the official weight limit is. (She is about 48 inches and 48 pounds). I haven't had it for too long, though, so I don't know how she would be in it for extended periods of time. Since I have two younger daughters, I think she will likely walk most of the time and just ride for short periods of time.

A Disney Dad here. My SEVEN year old is 52 inches tall and just a little under 60 lbs. He wanted a stroller our last night at the MK! We rented one and it was the best decision of the day! Yes, he had to bend his knees but he was comfortable enough to fall asleep in it while the rest of us enjoyed BTMR, HM, Wishes, etc. The rented stroller worked like a charm. Have a great trip!
