I will be bringing an umbrella stroller for 29 month old but what should I do about the 6 yr old do I then rent one when I get to the parks?????

I can't go without one for DS until we get to the parks....

What does everyone else do???

Thanks!!!

We bring our double jogging stroller, Baby Trend at Toys R' US, about $140. Our DD's 1 and 5 both ride, the 5 year old hops in and out. We do babyswap a lot, so we can't have two strollers for one parent to push while the other is on a ride. It is side by side, they can lay down or sit up. Very easy to push, two big baskets underneath and two zipper pouches on the sides.

My son was 6 the first time we went to WDW and he had no trouble keeping up with us in the parks. Also, he would have been mortified if we even suggested a stroller.so if I read you right then he sould be able to get to the parks w/o one and you can rent one there if needed.

It really depends on the park. Epcot is huge and you may need a stroller there. The fist time I went to Disney mine were 2 and 3. We didn't take a stoller then and we regretted it. We had to rent a double stroller for $10 each day. I was really surprised while I was there to see that there were even kids I would estimate at age 7 in a stroller. I just read somewhere that you walk from 5 to 7 miles a day at Disney. That is alot of walking for a kid. Anyway, we took our double stroller the following year and will take it again this year. It is great for the long walk from the bus to front of the park. They do hop in and out alot but it worked great. From what I can tell since you don't have a double stroller, you don't have much of an option. I would just take it one day at a time. You problably won't need one in magic kingdom or MGM, but if you go to Epcot it is a must and then you can just rent it there. Just remember if you leave the park for the day and are planning on returning to that park or another one, save the tag they give you and you get just get a new stroller at whe you come back to the same park or a different one as long as it is the same day.

I just responded to another post about older kids needing a stroller... I think a 6 year old would probably be fine without a stroller. My 4 1/2 year old walked all day for 4 days in January and I never heard a complaint out of him. We actually had our 3 little ones in the stroller and I kept asking if he'd like me to carry one of them for awhile so he could ride and he absolutely did not want to ride in the stroller at all. You could always play it by ear and if your 6 year old is tired, rent one in the parks then!
