Stroller dilemma

My oldest will be 5 when we leave in March, she is 50 pounds. My youngest will be 3 1/2 and 40 pounds. We rented a double last time through Orlando Strollers and it worked out great. However, after this summer and going to 6-Flags and other "amusement parks" they were hardly ever in the stroller. Plus we are planning on going straight to the park as soon as we leave the airport, so I'm not sure how I would be able to rent through Orlando. I do have a Dreamer Design Ditto Double Stroller but it is HUGE. Even if I take it apart, it will not fit in a large suitcase, and Dreamer Design is no longer in business and you cannot find any of their carry bags for sale.

I'm thinking of just bringing a single stroller (granted I don't have one, but will look on craigslist) but I'm scared that there will be fighting over who gets to sit there. It's so nice to have a stroller to "help" carry stuff so I don't want to go without one. It's been a long time since I've used a single stroller so what kind has lots of storage, easy fold up, and will hold a 50 pound child? Oh and it's got to be easy to maneuver.

If I rent, it will stink because I need it when we first get there and we plan on going to the park before we we head to the airport. So again, how will they pick it up?

Its got everything you need. If you go with a new single its totally the way to go. Here's our son on its last trip....

When both our kids were 6 we started using the "rent if we need to" strategy. So you could go with a single and only rent a second on those especially long days.

If you decide to take your double, just put the kids in it and take it all the way to the gate. You can check it there when you get on the plane and it will be waiting at the other end when you get off. I wouldnt give one more minute of thought to trying to pack it.

P.S. the tape on the handle is so we could spot it in a crowded stroller parking area, not because it had to be rigged in some way.

I'd look at some second hand stores.

I found two second hand Perego Aria's a year after I bought a Perego P3! Too bad I couldn't find one a year earlier. My neighbour picked one up at a garage sale for $3 (Aria). It worked fine for her son at WDW, he was over 44" tall.

We own two double strollers but opted to buy Combi Urban single strollers for our trip in Feb 09 with two 2.5-year-olds. The single strollers only weighed 10 lbs, tri-folded very compactly for carrying and buses/car, and we could split up and still have a stroller for each child. My children will get testy with each other in the double strollers, so having them separated was wonderful for when they were tired or frustrated.
