Hi, I am wondering if you might be able to help me out? We are heading to WDW on Saturday and I am trying to figure out which strollers to bring. Our DD's are 6, 4.5, 3 and 11 months. My SIL thinks I should bring both our double strollers (1 is a double chariot). I think this might be a lot of strollers to have with us and am wondering if I can get by with 1 double or 1 double and a single.

What do you think I should do? Will Southwest let me take the chariot all the way to the gate?

Thanks for your help!

Kate

I don't know about flying w/ anything other than my bjcm so I can't help you there. for your ages i could see wanting a seat for each one of them but that IMO. You could bring one and rent if you feel that you need another but I would rent from www.orlandostrollerrentals.com before renting from disney. R u afraid that having the chariot will be too tedious for you and your spouse to deal w/ while managing the kids. r u staying onsite. if you think your kiddos can do w/out than try it but set aside some money for a rental just in case.

Thanks for your reply! I am worried that although the chariot is much nicer to push with the bigger girls in it, it is a pain to colapse and store etc. I also am a bit afraid of it getting stolen or something. Not sure if that happens at WDW or not... The other stroller I have is very hard to push with the 6 yo in it. It is not as nice a stroller all around.

Decisions decisions. I guess I will have to look into how much a rental would be. It is hard for me to justify renting when I just bought this nice new stroller lol.

I know what you mean about renting I can honestly say that if you rented the bjcm double from OSR you will be able to push your older girls in it easily. I use a single for my 6yr old daily she is disabled and I can even push my 9yr old around in it just one handed w/out too many turns and the seats are super roomy. Just take in to consideration that the disney strollers are expensive they are smaller than they used to be and you can't leave the parks w/ them. As for strollers getting stolen from what I have read it has happened but it hasn't happened to me. You might want to check out craigslist to see what you can find or check out the budget board and see if you can get in on a swap even if it is for a single stroller. they have a few double joggers and a maclaren twin I think its the traveller. good luck w/ your decision.

With two strollers, how many adults will you have in your group? Do you plan to use the buses or rent a van?

If you use the buses, you'll have to balance two strollers and 4 kids - and no guarantee of any seats, especially together.

We have 6 adults. We do plan on using the buses... I really can't decide what to do!

I would take or rent 2 double strollers, make sure they are easy to push, and rent ones that you can take out of the parks, there is nothing worse than trying to carry a 4 or 5 yr old when they are too tired to walk from the bus to the room because you are exhaused too.

How likely is it really that all 4 of your kids will be riding at the same time? Could you bring one double stroller and maybe a carrier (like the ergo) for the littlest one? Than the older 3 can trade off in the stroller depending on who is really tired and the baby can ride in the carrier where there is a better view anyway. Besides a carrier is so handy in the lines where you can't take the stroller so you'll probably want that regardless, and if the littlest one rides you can just stow the carrier in the basket and you're good to go.

It's hard to balance the desire for minimal gear with the needs of the family. I have enough trouble with one, (soon to be two) I'm impressed you're even going for it with 4. Good luck to you. I'm sure it'll be great.

I like your adult to kid ratio - 6 adults is awesome! Plenty of extra hands, so take both double strollers.

I would just bring one for the littlest two tikes. We never used strollers and our kids were each 4yo on their first visits.

IMO 2 strollers would be a PITA to get on & off the buses and will take up a ton of space in your hotel room.

The advice I have received is t just suck it up and rent strollers there. Like others mentioned,it is a pain to lug stroller on and off of buses and you don't have to worry about your own stroller getting stolen. I do think it is worth it to be prepared for even the oldest one to not want to walk all day.

A double chariot as in a bike trailer type stroller? That seems like an awful big pain to try to fly with.

I have a 6 yo, a 3 yo and a 7 mo. I'll be taking 2 single strollers. Both are Macs so the 6 yo can sit if need be. My thinking is that the 3 you and 6 yo will not be riding at the same time and they can trade off if need be. I also have the Ergo for the little one if both bigs kids are just dead tired at the end of the day.

Can you take one double and a single? That way, you have 3 seats at all times but you aren't trying to deal with 2 huge strollers?

And I like your ratios of adults to kids. ;) We'll have 4 adults to 3 kids and I'm not positive it will be enough. :lmao:

i would bring both strollers and if the 2nd one isn't really needed, you can always leave it behind in the hotel when you head to the parks.

If it were me, I'd bring only a double - and a sling for the baby. That way, up to 3 kids can ride. We've always taken a single and a sling for our two youngest. (Was 3y andd 2 months first time, 3.5y and 9 months second time. This trip the oldest is 6 and the younger ones almost 4 and 11 months).

We are having stroller issues too. We have a a 6yo dd 3yo ds and a 3 month old dd. I am taking our sint n stand and a dingle stroller. I think.
