We leave this week WOO HOO!!
I just got to thinking about a stroller cover, nothing like last minute.
Is one needed? I can see that it would be helpful even to just put on stroller while we are in attractions, in case of a pop up rain shower.

I have a Peg Perego Aria. What kind of cover would you recommend? One that also provides extra shade would be nice for if DD will nap in the stroller as the canopy on the Aria is small IMO.

Can I buy covers at Target or Walmart, or do I need to order online?

Thanks for your help!!! :)

I leave this week also!!

I have a double stroller and just thought of the rain cover last week. I ordered one online through baby universe and spent a fortune on shipping to make sure it gets here on time. I went to Babies R Us after ordering it and found that they had rain covers for single and double strollers in stock at the store. I haven't seen them at Walmart or Target though...

I hadn't found one either, so I figured I may just throw a modified poncho over the stroller. Hopefully I won't have too many leaks!

It is worth having one. You can get a quick down pour even with out cloudy skies. It is a good idea to cover your stroller when you leave it outside an attraction. A poncho is better than nothing.

I am going to order one from Target. (about $12) It is called a a pop-up shield. It is made like the windshield shades you put in your car, or those pop open laundry baskets. You can fold it up in a circle when you are done with it. (Know what I'm trying to say?)

It seems safer to use with the baby in the stroller than a plastic one you just hang over the stroller, since it holds its shape. It would be easy to fold up and put away too.

I haven't been able to find any type of rain cover for strollers at my local Target, Wal Mart or Toys R Us.

Last year we got stuck in a downpour at MK and out of desperation used an adult poncho to cover the double stroller, it worked perfectly... We just slid it over the stroller tore the neck part a little and my children and the stroller stayed dry.

We too used a poncho but only while ds was out of the stroller. It worked well. Does enough air get in with a cover if the child is in it? I have never had any experience with that and just think it would be so HOT! and STUFFY! I just got a Maclaren though so was wondering since it came with the cover.

I have always found that the stroller covers get really steamy for the child in the stroller and heaven knows, Orlando is steamy enough! We use an adult size poncho over the stroller. If my DS is in the stroller, we can pop his head through and if we are just using the poncho to cover the stroller while visiting an attraction, just fold over the head opening on it and it stays really dry! Enjoy your trip!

My DD's 2nd trip to WDW the night before we left my neighbor mentioned she had a stroller rain cover and did I want to borrow it? It saved the trip. I will never go with out one from now on.

However I haven't heard of this pop up one, sounds interesting though.

We had a pep pergo aria twin and cover for it. It works well, but last year DD' (then 7 months old) kept licking the cover in the rain. She wanted the water. It was pretty funny. :teeth:

Pick one up, it can be a life saver. I hope you don't need it, since we will be ther May 6th to 12th! :sunny:

We used stroller covers when we went in JAN/FEB. I'm so glad I threw them in my bag at the last minute because it poured down raining for 2 days. We would have missed out on a lot without them. I found mine at Babies R Us...try to find the ones with mesh on the sides. It allows air to come in on both sides, but the kids stay dry...at least my 2 did! Don't forget ponchos for yourself...they are much cheaper to buy at home than WDW!

Have fun! :wizard:

Someone posted that they found these at the Dollar Store. On the third store, I found them. Bought 2 for our double. I didn't open them yet, so I don't know how good they are/aren't.

Pretty much any store that sells strollers sells them. Target, Wallmart, babies R us and toys R us are all good bets if you don't want to drive around looking. They are around $10 (or less.) I double might cost 12. Also Burlington Coat Factory, Baby Deopt has them. These are a bit stronger, don't tear so easy and have vents.

Good luck. Let's hope we don't need them. :goodvibes

Oh, shade while sleeping (not so good when awake) we take a big clip used for stacks for paper (found in any area that sells office supplies) and we clip the blanket on it to cover the child. We just leave the clip on other wise. It works great. :goodvibes
