Coming to Disney with a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old. I have a City Select Double stroller. It can be a double or a single. I'm thinking about just bringing it to the parks as a single because I really like to baby wear, and my four month old really enjoys being in the wrap. My 2.5 year old doesn't like to ride in the stroller much -- would rather walk most of the time. My thought is they can take turns in the stroller... but then I think I might be a little silly for thinking that?!

The seats go one in front of the other so having it as a double vs. single just makes it longer and more difficult to maneuver.

Am I crazy for thinking about just bring it as a single? It just seems like most of the time we go out with the double stroller then its empty except for our stuff!!

Depending on when you're going, you may want a break from baby wearing at some point from the heat. And if that happens to also be the time the older child wants to ride, it could be a problem if they are sharing 1 seat. But I'm an over preparer. If I think there's the slightest chance I would need something, I bring it.

I would bring it as a double. Once my kids were done walking at that age they were completely done. There was no walking after that. You could always break it into a single if it seems like you're not needing the second space, but if there's any chance they'll both want to be in it at the same time I would bring it.

I would not want to baby wear for an entire vacation in Florida. Unless you're going December-February - it's going to be HOT. Baby wouldn't like that after a while either. I had a 4 month old in Disneyland and I wore her quite a bit, but the breaks were nice when she was in the stroller - and she liked being able to stretch out with the canopy over her. And this was California - the weather was nowhere near as hot and humid as Florida, but it gets tiring no matter what climate.

I'd use it as a single. I've had several trips with a 3 year old and a baby. The baby stayed in the sling pretty much all the time. One trip had a picky baby who wanted to nap lying down in the stroller - so the 3 year old was out of the stroller for that time, but that wasn't that long. All the other with-baby trips had the baby napping in the sling.

As for the heat, it wasn't an issue. There was one trip where I was sweating, but that probably helped cool baby. I had a thin sling on that trip that I used. Baby was 2 months old and was in it the entire time. That was over Memorial Day.

The other thing to consider is if you are taking them yourself or if you'll have another adult. If you are by yourself, then I would do the double just in case. But otherwise, the what-if results in the other parent carrying the 2.5 year old out at the end of the night - and that's only if baby doesn't want to go in the carrier.

I ended up with a 2.5 year old in the sling one trip because a child refused the stroller and refused to walk. A 2.5 year old in the carrier when I hadn't done baby wearing for a year was a bit tough, but I managed. Babywearing a baby all day long day after day in the parks was really easy though.

Thank you!! I don't think heat will be an issue for me either. I live in FL.

I also say double, that way as you are baby wearing, you have a place to put your backpack, lunch bag etc.
My kids strolled because even wanting to walk, they got worn out! At one point, the 7 year old was in the stroller because we had overdone it.
How long is your trip?

I go with double also - we just did a trip with a 4.5 year old and a 4 month old and while we didn't have both of them in the stroller all the time, we did enough. And it seemed that whenever the baby was in the stroller (when it was too hot or I needed a break), the 4.5 year old also wanted to ride.

We have four days of parks. Planning to do 9-1, take a break, then 4ish-bedtime. Hoping the nap helps everyone.

True. She will probably want to ride because her sister is. Hah!

There's no way I'd go to Disney with a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old with only a single stroller. It's big, the 2.5 year old is going to want/need to rest. When are you going? I guess if you're going in the winter and you really love baby-wearing, then maybe with the assumption that most of the time the toddler's going to be using the stroller and you holding the baby, but even then, for us we'd def. go with the double.
