I run one of the swaps over on the budget board and thought I would post on the family thread incase someone might be interested in using one of the strollers.

This is the DOUBLE strollers that the swap has available-holds a combined weight of 100#:

Not sure what that means, or if it was directed at me? But, I have looked at all the swaps and couldn't find one. Sorry if that post wasted your time, but I'm not sure why you would open a thread entitled stroller swap, knowing it was about stroller swaps?

Oh, she's not directing that at you. She's just posting so others will see this thread as well. She's one of the swappers and we just like to see the dates fill up so we don't lose another stroller. Basically, if you post something, like a smiley, it pushes the thread to the first page so other Diser's can see it.

I wish there was one available for my dates 5/10-5/17, but I've had no luck. I'm going to end up buying a new stroller to use for a week, but it's better than paying almost the same amount to rent one from Disney.

Can you tell me more or link me to more info on details of a "stroller swap?" How does that work?

I'm trying to plan for our September vaca and researching strollers (dd will be 16 months) - which is how I tripped across this thread!

Definitely not dense! There are so many threads on the Dis that it would be hard to find anything. There are 3 links in my signature (at the bottom of this post). One is for my pre-trip report. The other two are for the two stroller swaps that Parkers*Momma is organizing. Royal Carriage Swap is the 5 double strollers, Tinker Bell is the single stroller swap. You can click on whichever link you are interested in and read the first post of each, then scroll down to find if your dates are available. Once you find the stroller with your dates available (assuming they are available) send a PM (private message) to Parkers*Momma with the name of the stroller, and all of the information that she requests in post 1.


Oh, you need 10 posts before you can PM so post random things like smilies, weather reports, just a hey how ya doin'? to get your posts up to 10, then you can send her the message with your info. DO NOT PUT PERSONAL INFORMATION ON THE PUBLIC THREAD

Stroller swaps are a group of DIS'ers who chose to share a stroller than to pay the high prices of renting a stroller. A stroller is purchased by the dis'ers and everyone gets to use it. When one swapper is leaving WDW, they leave it for the next swapper to use, after that swapper's vacation is over they leave it for the next swapper and so-on and so-on.

with the double stroller swap, in some cases it has saved the vacationing Dis'er/swapper over $300. The rules are few but the saving is big!

I find this SO fascinating!!
Off to check the links for details (like who bought the stroller? How did it get there? lol).

Too bad for me I am too impatient and ordered a new stroller during a bout of insomnia last night...

Well, Parkers*Momma has paid for a couple of the strollers, but she took over the swap from another family that paid for them initially. Once you sign up for a swap you send the $$ to the swap leader and they just recover their initial cost. Then, once that $$ is recouped, the money goes into a fund used to replace missing/lost/broken accessories and strollers.

Can you cancel the order? Seriously this is a terrific way to save a bunch of $$. It may even be worth a return fee if you paid enough for it.

I have a stroller here for DS but am swapping because I don't want mine to become damaged. It's already almost 3 years old and I won't buy a new one until I have another baby. So, the swap is the way to go! We'll be bringing a cheap umbrella stroller for the airport, but that will go under a bed at POR until we go back to the airport.
