Stroller at the Airport

OK. This is my first trip as a mommy and I would like to know what to expect when we are boarding our plane. We will have our son in his stroller and my DH will have his carseat to put into the seat on the plane (we bought the baby his own seat). What do I do with the stroller when we board? How do I get it back once we're in Orlando? Where do the FA's put the strollers? Thanks for any tips!!!!!!

You should check with your airline.
But usually you take the stroller to the gate, you go to the agent who will give you a gate check (they will put it right on the stroller). When you are called to board you walk down the gangway with the stroller (either keep your child in it or carry your child and push the stroller). Right before you go on the plane you fold the stroller and leave it by the door. An airline employee will take it and put it under the plane with storage. When you get off the plane wait by the same place and an employee will bring it back to you. It is usually a very easy a smooth process.

Most airlines usually let those with children board first after First class of course. what we usually do is send my DH and the oldest DD to board so he can strap in the car seat. I then wait with the youngest till close to the time when most other passengers have boarded. I then push the stroller to the door, take her out and fold it up , leaving it next to the door. Once we get on the plane her seat is all ready and she has had a little extra time out in the waiting area to burn off some energy.

Most airlines are very easy.My son is 2 1/2 he has been to wdw 3 times. We just wheel him to the airplane in the stroller with the car seat and base.Then we drop the stroller off with the attendant and take base and seat into plane and away we go.

Scanne - I'm so glad you asked this! Our first trip as parents is in December and things like this are keeping me up at night.

Sounds pretty easy though. Hope your trip is wonderful!
