Stroller and Bag

We will be going at the end of this month for 5 days. My son is two and still uses diapers. My questions is, we will have a stroller and his diaper bag. We will also carry a small cross body bag with our personal items which will go on rides with us (ids, phones, etc). Is it safe to leave our diaper bag with the stroller when we park it to go into rides? I want to set it up to where if it went missing it wouldn't be a big loss but we do use cloth diapers so having them stolen would be not great. I know no one can gaurantee the safety of our items but just wondering what others have experienced. Thanks!

When we went with a stroller, I always left the diaper bag in the bottom of the stroller. I had duplicates of all the things in the diaper bag back in the room, and I had all of my valuables like my wallet, camera, phone in a small bag that I did bring on the ride with me, that bag never got left in the stroller.

Been going for 10 years now and the times we had a diaper bag we always left it with the stroller, we only take the important items with us.

It's not impossible, but I think it's unlikely that your diaper bag would be taken. As a former cloth mama, I can relate to the devastation that would be felt by having them stolen. I also know how much room they take up in a bag though, and there's no way I'd tote that thing on and off every ride! I'd certainly take the risk and leave the bag in the stroller.

Even if someone did take the bag, I'm sure they wouldn't realize the resale potential of those diapers and would just ditch it. Haha! You'd get it back from Lost and Found and the thief would feel like a failure for scoring a bunch of diapers.

I have heard of stories on here of people's strollers/bags being taken. I would not leave anything that you would be very upset about losing (and I don't just mean cameras and wallets). Someone on here lost a stroller with filled autograph books, blankets, someone else had some stuffed animals stolen...I would think diapers, wipes, etc. that are easily replaceable and not emotional would be safe. Anything else....not so much. Also, the squirrels seem to like to dig through strollers, so be careful how you package any food you leave too.

I read a funny article about how to leave valuables in a diaper (not used!) when you're at the beach, but made it look like it was a dirty diaper. No way would anyone take things then! :)

You can use a small locks that they put on lugguages and then you lock it down onto your stoller and a fence using a bicycle chain...

I used this lock to secure the bag to the the stroller. Just slip one loop around the bag handle, one loop around your stroller in the morning and you're good to go all day. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003EM3D6E?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

I used this lock on the back wheel to prevent theft of the whole stroller: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I5IWCPA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

It seems like a lot of hassle but it really wasn't and I figured it was worth $25 in locks to free up my hands and prevent theft.

Instead of taking a cross body bag and a diaper bag, could you just put everything in a backpack? That's what worked best for us. DH and I took turns carrying it, and we always took it on rides with us. It eliminated the temptation for anyone to take it, and it never seemed like an inconvenience. However, we would leave bulkier things (light blankets, a towel if there was a splash pad, little cooler, etc.) on the bottom of the stroller.

It was also nice to have the bag with us in lines or longer rides for snacks, toys, etc. if needed.

Thank you for informing me....what I did do what lock my two strollers together...I doubt anyone wants strollers attached to one another...

Thanks everyone. You all have put my mind at ease about leaving the bag. I don't want to put it all to carry with me for 2 reasons. As gellar said there's extra gear with cloth diapers. For starters they are bulky and then you have to put the dirty ones in a wet bag too so its a lot to just carry on and off rides. Also my husband and I are pretty pooh sized so I don't want to feel squished with a toddler and a big back pack. I think putting valuables in a smaller bag is a good approach and most people seem to find it safe to leave the diaper bag so we'll probably do that. THANK YOU EVERYONE!

I always worry about this too but we have been going for the last 10 years and never had any problems. With four kids, we have always had a little one with a stroller, and always left bags and items in it. Never lost the stroller or anything in it.
