Stroller advice for july trip

I will be going in july with my 5 yo DS and 9 month old DD, plus grandmas.
We will be staying at AoA and then moving to the swan. Then maybe offsite for SeaWorld/Universal.
It will be the first time I won't have a car for the whole trip
So previously I have never had taken into account folding the stroller for the buses.
I need a stroller with me for the airport, we have a long flight and I know I cannot wear DD for that long (she is 6 months now and moving into 12 month sizes).

At home when out and about we use our Uppababy vista with the standing board. So I thought I would take it thus plus the ergo for lines and boarding. now I am not so sure. The vista is huge, and while great to have at the parks, folding it an unfolding it for the buses will be a PITA.

I have a Citi Mini I use for travel, so I was thinking about one of these options

- citi mini plus ergo to use if he wants to sit
- citi mini+board+ergo
- bring just the citi mini single and rent a double for the parks

Is the citi double a monster to load on the buses? will a 5 yo (who is the opposite of his sister, tiny-tiny) need to sit in a stroller most of the time in the july heat? Any other suggestions.

We are not comando types, we do 1/2 days, or maybe morning, back to the resort and back in the evening.

I've only gone in September with my nieces and yes they were in the stroller a fair amount with the heat. I also do long days so they would nap in the stroller each day.

I would bring the City Mini and either pick up a cheaper stroller or rent a single. Since you have Grandmas to help with all the stuff and kids. When loading and unloading the bus I would wear your daughter and then have one stroller to deal with. One grandma in charge of your son and any other bag/backpack and the other for the second stroller. You can park one stroller and leave it in one section do the rides and then let your son hop in and head to the next area.

It will be a bit easier to navigate the park with two single strollers. Also if grandma(s) need a break they can take the baby and do something while you and your son go on rides.

.

City double folds in half, like a piece of bread. Check out this video:
As for loading the bus, I also need to figure out how they load the strollers. But I am sure drivers/people in the park are very used to having strollers around and you won't be the only one with a double.
I would also recommend you to get a stroller for your 5 yo. My DD is 8 and DS is 4. I am getting a double for them. :)

I wouldn't worry about the buses as much as I would worry about the nighttime shows. Navigating those evening crowds can be crazy with a stroller! But if you guys are usually back in your resort by the evening, I would definitely suggest the double stroller. You don't want to end up having to carry the five year old in the heat, because then you will both be hot and tired.

Whatever you do, I'd def. have a real double (with 2 seats) for the parks. Out of your options, I'd choose #3, but not renting one from the parks, but one from an outside company so you have something like a citi mini double etc. - Yes, it's not fun on the buses (no stroller is), but it's not horrible and there will be many others doing the same. It's going to be really hot and they're both going to need a place to sit/rest in the shade.

I rented a double citi mini gt when my youngest was 7 weeks and middle 6 and it worked out great. Both were able to recline completely if needed with a great sun shade.

mmm, never thought about two singles

Should I bring the city mini and rent a citi mini? I think I should take the ergo anyway right?

It would be a waste of money to rent if you have a good one to use - and you have to turn them in at the gates, so that means if you're walking to the parking lot or Disney transportation, you have to carry two tired children. I would say use the double and just practice opening and closing it, so it's not a hassle. I would not bring two singles - that's double the hassle. With a double, you only need one person pushing - if baby wants out of the stroller and your 5 year old wants to walk, that leaves one for each grandma and two strollers to contend with. Definitely not worth it.

I would bring your city mini and the ergo (it will be hot to wear baby for long periods). Then either keep an eye out for a cheaper umbrella type stroller on sale or at a second hand store. WDW did sell an umbrella stroller for around $45 (they still might, probably costs more now). I would let your oldest use the city mini when you are wearing the baby and park the umbrella in stroller parking (move it when you switch areas). Then have the baby in the city mini when you need a break from wearing. The oldest can ride in the umbrella or walk.

Just re-read the original post and saw you youngest will be 9 months. So it won't matter what stroller she rides in. I thought she was younger and would have to be in the City Mini
