String's Atkin's Journal (Please Comment)

Beth I hope you got some sleep and are able to relax and rest yourself today. You sound exhausted! Take care of yourself!

~Amanda

Hi Amanda, thanks for checking on me.

Ahh...sleep. Katie even cooperated and slept until 9AM! Unheard of and much appreciated. I was able to accomplish most of the things I needed to do before leaving Wednesday. I just need to pack, change the beds, and clean the bathrooms. I will head to the Y. My plan for the day is 3 weight circuits and some time on the treadmill. I'm feeling lazy, so I won't commit to how many miles I'll do. I will do at least 30 minutes though.

We are driving, so we'll leave about 10AM. We want to avoid all rushhours. This means I can workout tomorrow AM. The hotel has a healthclub. I am bringing some workout clothes with me, and I have the best of intentions to at least do some treadmill time. I also have the best of intentions about staying OP for food. We'll see how well I actually do though.

I will try to make it to everyone's journals at least once before I leave. We can't take the computer with us, so I won't be able to update.

Have a great day.
Beth

:wave2: Hi Beth,
Glad to hear you were able to get some much deserved sleep. Have a wonderful time on your trip  .

So much for a clean house. Won has lost his passport, and we have torn the house apart looking for it. It really isn't a huge deal as we are only going to Canada. The problem is that he is a naturalized citizen. We are always stopped, and they tear apart the suitcases etc. With the passport, ho hassle.

I'm off to bed. I don't think I will get to journals. I'm sorry. I tried earlier, but the boards were down. Know that I am sending :goodvibes to everyone.

I may make a short post tomorrow.

See you next week.
Beth

Beth, I hope you have a safe, restful and fun trip! I'll be sending good thoughts your way! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Beth:

I hope you and your family are enjoying your break in Toronto. You sure deserve a good time.

Well, I'm back and it is time to start over. I was good until Saturday, then things fell apart.

We had a great time. The weather was good. It was in the 70's which is perfect for us. The concert was awesome. She sang a ton of her old stuff, and we had 1st row stage left seats. Katie did great with her "Mary Poppins" I did do 30 minutes at a 12 incline one day, and we walked probably 5 miles a day. I was doing great foodwise until Saturday. The problem was that we just went too long without eating. We had a hotdog at the Science Center(that was all that was offered) Spent hours there then went to Casa Loma. The weird thing about Toronto is that the restaurants are clustered. Except for Tim Hortons, they are everywhere. We were in an area without restaurants, and when we got off the subway wanting food. We ended up at a Chinese place. It was great food, and I skipped the rice, but I did have a spring roll and some sweet and sour sauce. This morning we were runing late, so we grabbed a doughnut from Horton's. Lunch was french onion soup. I am ok with it. I will get on the scale in the morning. Won is going to do induction with me starting tomorrow, and I think it will be easier with him doing it too.
The border was a nightmare. Without the passport, we had our car searched. They pulled everything out, looked all through the car, and just threw things around. Things weren't put back in the bag, and they wouldn't let Katie go in the building to go to the bathroom. The entire thing took 90 minutes.

Now the important stuff. I went shopping, and found some great clothes. I got a skirt and top in black stretchy material. The skirt has a rippled hem that is on a diag. The Top has a weird neckint, it is kinda diagonal as well. It looks really great and different. I also got a black shirt with the same neckline. It has red and white lines going through it. Sounds odd, but it is really cool. It looks good with the skirt or with jeans. I picked up a long sleeved tshirt in a deep melon, and a pair of strappy black shoes to go with my outfit for the wedding.

I hope everyone is well, and I will be working to catche up with journals tomorrow. Plan is workout, buy groceries, nap, go to dinner with friends, then go to the second concert.

Sounds like you had a good time besides the border thing. Knowing you...you will be back on track in no time flat. Have a great week.

Kristin

Just a quick post. I am back from the Y. 3 miles at an incline of 10. I don't have more time than that. I weighed in,217. I am down a pound from last weighin. I've started laundry, now I'm off to shower. Then it is time to take Katie to her preschool introduction time and go grocery shopping.
Breakfast-MS bar and tea.
Lunch will be a ham/cheese omelet.
Dinner will be salad with grilled chicken (Marinated in Italian dressing)
I have string cheese for snacks. I will hit journals periodically. I hope to get to everyone today.
Beth

Hi Beth!

I am glad to hear that you had a good time in Toronto! We have never been there, but I have heard it is a really nice place to visit. ::yes::

Congratulations on your weight loss, Beth!:Pinkbounc Woohoo! Keep up the good work!:teeth:

It sounds like you have a very busy day ahead of you. I hope you have a chance to relax sometime today. Take good care of you!

Tracy:wave:

Beth, another pound gone AND new clothes!!! You are livin' a grand life, girlfriend!!! :Pinkbounc I can hear your enthusiasm for those new clothes in your post - they really are making you feel great, aren't they? Wear them with pride, Beth!!

I'm so glad your trip was wonderful (except for the border ordeal, of course  ). You deserved some carefree time with no worries or stresses! ::yes::

Congrats on the good workout and best wishes for healthy eating today!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Just a quick post. Yesterday went as planned for food. The concert was great, again, but I liked Toronto better. Toronto was at an outdoor pavilion, and was more intimate. The sound was also better at Toronto. I had some anxiety issues last night. I have some pretty severe claustrophobia that is crowd related. It was packed, dark, hot, and loud. I made it through the concert, but could have used a drink. Oh well.

I need to pick up Kate. We are then going to the Y. Weights and cardio. Lunch. We are both getting haircuts, and then we go to the healthfood store. I need to get started on laundry. I also want to clean a bit.

B: Ham rolllup.
Lunch: Salad.
S: Coffee
D: Roasted chicken, brocolli, salad.

It is taking me much longer to get through journals than planned. I will be hitting them again today. I'm sorry, if I didn't make it to yours yesterday.

Take care,
Beth

Beth, it sounds like you've got quite a full day planned! I'm sending extra energized :wizard: to help you get to all that is on your to-do list!

Thank you for your wonderful words in my journal yesterday. I know you didn't think you worded them well, but I found them to be very comforting and just what I needed to boost my confidence. I really appreciate your support and friendship, Beth!

Hope you have a wonderful day, with some time to catch your breath and realize how many people are so very lucky to have you in their lives......including me! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Beth:

Other than the border, it sounds like you had a wonderful trip. We love to head up to Vancouver, BC for the day and going up into Canada everyone is so friendly, helpful and professional. Coming back, even with a passport, the US Customs and guards are downright nasty.

A pound gone! Must be all that good exercise - you amaze and inspire me.
