I have read and read and read....I have watched youtubes, etc..please somebody help me get a handle on this?:headache::headache:

Right now we have 10 nights free dining 10 day base tickets at CBR standard room... I can't decide if this is going to be ok or if I want POR. I am trying to squeeze budget for a royal room...
BTW 2adults 3small kiddos 7,4,1..

Pro's for CBR
Zero entry pool,
Beachy, we love the beach!
pails shovels for food court for kids
Nice little kid pool
Bigger rooms??

Con's
Double beds
Apparently very large resort? With inner bus?
Don't care for food choices

Pro's for POR
new refurb rooms
Queens beds
Like the food court choices MUCH better
And possible upgrade to ROYAL rooms
Beautiful resort

Con's
not sure if it feels very kid friendly?( I know this may sound silly)
Not crazy about alligator bayou
Pool doesn't look as good for littles?

So it is pretty close... I need a new set of eyes to say an opinion.
If the royal rooms don't pan out, and isn't in our budget which one would y'all do?

And do I have to decide by tomorrow when this promo is over!:confused3

I know it's hard to do, but don't stress over this. We have stayed at both resorts and they are both fantastic. IMHO you can't really "go wrong" with either.

Having said that, we prefer CBR over POR. We just like the laid back and relaxed feel we get when at CBR. It's the perfect balance to the craziness that the parks can offer. It feels like we're on a seperate vacation when we have a resort day.

Yes it's a big resort, but to us that's one of the positives. Even when the resort is at full capacity, it never feels like it. And unless you are staying in a Pirate Room, it is a short walk over to OPR and the Main Pool.

Speaking of the Main pool, our DS10 absolutely loves the pool at CBR. We had a hard time some days getting him out of the pool to go to the parks.

Just remember, whichever resort you choose YOU WILL BE IN DISNEY for 10 days!!!! Make a choice, relax and start making those ADRs!! :cool1:

I'm excited for AB all. The princess and the frog stuff without having to pay for a royal room. You could ask to be in the mansion section non royal room. The biggest reason we didn't go with CBR is the full beds. I was able to get a standard room at POR with FD so it was the same price as CBR. We are there for 11 days.

Double beds- this is a deal breaker for us, we can not sleep well in double beds

Queen beds are a must for us, we are used to king bed at home. Since you have three little ones, CBR beds might be ok.

My sister loved POR-FQ. She thought the food court was outstanding, loved the smaller resort, loved taking the bus to DTD and thought that the pool was very kid friendly. POR-FQ is her favorite moderate resort.

I have not stayed at CBR, but it does look like a large resort. This will take more time to get around. If you plan on that, then it's not an unwelcome surprise.

Thank you so much! Already you have given me some points I hadn't thought about..

The separate vacation and the laid back feel of CBR is what drew me to it... But I have 3 little girls who LOVE tiana... Plus, this is the 1st time we will be staying at a moderate, and I guess I should have added the last trip for at least 3 years... So I am stressing over the resort cause we will have at least one day at the resort and some early evenings to come back to swim also..Swimming at CBR is the best out of the two...

The bed thing is a big deal with me, cause to me values have full size beds and we have stayed at pop century, so I don't know if I can justify cost of a mod for a pool, and some extra extra nice scenery..
Now my dh can...

I stayed at CBR with a teenager last Oct. We liked it-very quiet, nice food court-buses picked up all the way around the resort. The only downside for us was when leaving MK at closing this was the most packed bus station-5 buses later we were on.

Stayed at POR-FQ two weeks ago. Small resort, queen size beds, beautiful pool for children. Very quiet, food court never really crowded, took the boat at night to DTD. No room is far away from anything. No crowded buses and FQ has it's own bus.

Hands down I would pick CBR. Once your little one is 3 that hotel is "out" for a family of five. Do POR then :)

We've never stayed at POR, but we loved CBR :goodvibes. If the bed thing is a big deal for you, then you might be better off going with POR. But if the double beds are doable, CBR is a beautiful resort and the pool is great (it was great when we stayed there back in 2002 and has been redone since our stay). Good luck deciding, but I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose :wizard:.

We stayed in a pirate room in April at cbr. They are about as far away from everything as you can get and it wasn't more than a 7 (if that) minute walk. I found the buses to be above average and we never had to take an internal bus. The pool for the you get kids is wonderful. There is a separate area foe the 48" and younger crowd with some very small slides and water play area. It is completely gated in. The main pool also has 2 slides.

The double beds are a bit of a turn off but we were always so tired anyway (and we sleep in a king at home). The food court was typical for a food court. I would give POR a bit of an edge on that. And while cbr is big, POR isn't exactly small. No matter which you choose you will have a great time. And btw, we liked POR but we really loved cbr.

CBR was supposed to have queen beds by now; are you sure they still have doubles? It's a wonderful resort (I've been 8x-never disappointed). You should take the chance and definitely experience CBR at least once before as the PP said , your youngest hits 3yo.

I vote for POR. Queen beds!! you will be much more comfy. I cannot imagine how the 5 of you will squeeze into 2 tiny double beds. The pool is pretty awesome at POR. the bonus of staying here is that you can use the pool at POFQ as well. they will love the theme there. just take the boat over to FQ. speaking of boats, the stop after FQ takes you to downtown disney. very convenient.

You also have surrey bike rentals. a lot of fun. there's also yehaw bob in the lounge. great family entertainment. The mansions are recently refurbed and gorgeous! we stayed in arcadian mansion and it was beautiful, plus it was pretty close to the main building and pool. just a walk over the bridge. i highly recommend this place.

with your kids ages, I would pick CBR. they have a great kiddie water play area, both a slide for bigger kids and one for littler kids (besides the little slides in the kidde play area), and a zero entry pool.

We are staying at CBR next month and I am looking forward to it. We stayed at PO-FQ last time and really enjoyed it but I am interested in staying at different resorts to experience all Disney has to offer!

We stayed at CBR last January and loved it. We stayed at the Jamaica building which was just a short stroll across the lake to the main pool, dining etc. I didn't know what to expect, but it was great. The atmosphere is awesome! Cast members were terrific. Rooms were clean and fresh. Pool is fabulous. I've stayed at POR, and would choose CBR over it. I've never stayed at French Quarter but we're trying it out next month. :-)

Thank you to everyone for their thought and suggestions. I think overall I like the beach theme, and the pool IMHO is much better at CBR, but we will be using the food courts, and sleeping is a major priority...

So, I think I will go ahead and CHANGE to POR:rolleyes:. It comes down to what we will need the most.. Food and sleep. I do agree that the CBR pool is a lot better for littles, and my personal opinion is the CBR rooms look pretty neat.

But the mansions and tiana are a nice touch and the resort does look gorgeous. It's the AB "basic" feel that just keeps throwing me off. It looks like a cabin?? Very rustic shower, vanity, etc feel to it? Am I the only one who feels this way?:confused3
