We leave tomorrow for Sunny Florida! We had 7 nights reserved since February at HRH, 2 nights at seasonal ($219) 4 nights at entertainment ($140) 1 night seasonal ($219). Couldn't get entertaiment rate for SAT, SUN, FRI. We decided that we could probably find an inexpensive hotel near disney and pay for 2 days bounce back tix for MK/MGM for about the same we're paying for the 1st 2 nights. So we cancelled the first 2 nights, but kept the remaining 5 nights. (We did this on 7/4/02.) I called to confirm my ressies this past Monday, everything was fine. We received our credit card statement on Wednesday and there was a credit for the one night deposit. I specifically asked the reservations person to leave the deposit on the account, since we weren't cancelling the complete reservation. So I called back reservations, they said everything was fine, but gave me accountings phone #. Called there, got the machine, left a message. Acct. called back yesterday and said that reservation was showing as cancelled, my DH said that only 2 of the 7 nights were cancelled, she was going to call reservations and find out what was going on and get back to us. In the meantime I called reservations and spoke with a very nice person Linda, she said everything looks good and she made notations on the remaining 5 days that only 1st 2 nights were cancelled. Acct called back this morning, of course I was out, they left a message and said that the reservation wasn't cancelled, but we should call reservations and get it straigtened out. (Thank God it's an 800 #). So I called back again and they said it was completely cancelled and they've never seen anything like it the notation was Late Cancellation...Great! Paul was very nice and said he'd get a hold of his supervisor MaryBeth. She came on the line and said that she had an e-mail this morning from Acct. regarding this and she was on the phone with the hotel and looking at the ressie system at my ressie this morning when it was just cancelled off, they don't know who cancelled it....Great, again! She set me back up with new confirm #, with the same rates. I jokingly asked if she'd make a notation that I would accept an upgrade...She told me I didn't qualify because I was at discounted rate already.
So the long of the short of it is...CHECK YOUR RESERVATIONS BEFORE YOU GO!
Keep your fingers crossed that my reservations are still in the computer when we get to the HRH on Monday afternoon!
