I hope I'm on the best board for this question....We have plans to go to WDW May 18th-25th. I'm worried about how busy it's going to be. The last time we went was over spring break and it was sooo crowded. I'm trying to go at a better time w/ lower crowds. This is our first time w/ just ''our family'' = no inlaws:) I'm trying to make it perfect and do all the parks, shows, dinners everyone wants! I'm so excited for this trip!! I've heard it's crowded around Memorial Day weekend. But I was hoping that the crowds start when we are leaving and not the week we are there! We are taking our kids out of school for this trip, I'm making sure they don't miss any end of the year test so that limits our weeks to go and the perfect week I wanted to go my BFF is getting married and I'm in her wedding....so that week isn't an option anymore....I'm stressing that it's going to be really busy like last time. I'm also nervous about the travel home to NY over Memorial Day weekend. We aren't sure if we are flying or driving yet.

I wanted to add..the only other week that's a possibility is May 11th-18th. I'd rather not go this week but I would if it meant a big difference in the crowd level.

Since Memorial Day is not until the 27th, I think you will be fine. We have gone twice for two weeks with Memorial Weekend in the middle of our trip. The week before is great, the crowds pick up for the weekend (Sat-Mon), and the following week is slightly less crowded but still significantly more people than the week before the holiday.

Personally, if it would have worked with our schedules to go earlier in May we would have prefered that but even over the holiday weekend we didn't have any issues. During the weekend it was essential to ride all of the popular attractions during EMH or with FP (our kids were preschoolers and we refused to make them wait more than 10 minutes in any line), but the rest of the time was fine.

I am sure you will have a wonderful trip. :goodvibes

We were at Disney May 17th through May 27th this year and the crowds were not outrageous. We took our kids out of school two days early hoping to get in some time at the parks before the rest of Georgia joined us there! It seemed like we had the parks to ourselves early in the morning, and that was really nice. The weather was great and only rained a little on the 18th for about 20 minutes in the late afternoon. All of this being said, I think the crowds would be even lower earlier in May, but I wouldn't stress about it. :goodvibes

One of our favorite times of year to go! Weather is delightful and crowds are "lower" for Disney. We can usually walk on the rides we want or have a short 10 minute wait! You picked a great time.

My friend went this year from May 21-26 and they loved it! Low crowds, weather was warm but not super hot. She was with her husband, 2 year old, twin 1 year olds and she was/is pregnant! They rode all the rides they wanted to without horrible waits. I hope it works out the same for you. Good luck!
