December is a horribly busy month for me. We are so over-committed it isn't funny.

I leave for Palm Beach FL to my dad's on Sunday. We are joining DH in Orlando on Thursday and I have nothing planed. Not one PS/ADR...nothing.

I tried to make a game out of it on the trip planning board and got mildly flamed. I didn't have time to deal with where I thought the thread might degrade to and wasn't getting much help (except from 2 wonderful posters) so I moved on.

but I still need help!

We will be in the parks Friday, Sat and Sunday.

One of the posters suggested visiting other hotels so we are planning on that Thursday night (we need to pick a resort for dinner) and then Sunday morning while DH is working. He'll likely be at the Boardwalk for work so we'll check out Y&B, Boardwalk and the Swan and Dolphin if we have time.

I know I don't even have a general idea of what to do but I'm stressed with other things and I just can't think of anything good. Of course everyone is expecting me to come up with something great! This is the 3rd trip this year so I'm sorta 'over' the whole planning thing.

I'm not looking to be thrilled by some elaborite itinerary like I was accused. I just need a little help, somre direction, an outline.

I know a lot of people from the CB will be at WDW the 8th - 12th maybe you could post your plans. I promise I won't show up at your dining reservations! lol

Also, if anyone would like to help with my christmas cards, deal with my nazi HOA, decorate my house or host the 5 houseguests I'm expecting for 3 weeks please PM me! :rotfl:

Some of our best trips to WDW didn't involve any planning, we made a "last minute" reservation, packed out bags and off we went.

Since you are already stressed out, why not just "play it by ear". Do what you feel like doing, take it slow, enjoy the surroundings and don't rush. Enjoy yourself, WDW is beautiful this time of year. :sunny:

I am trying to remember - don't the restaurants have a certain # of walk-up tables available? Especially if you try to dine a little early? I see nothing wrong with a trip where you "wing it"! We, as Disney nuts, want to get the most out of our trips there (and scoff at those who don't even know what a PS is!) I can't help you with your planning, but just want to remind you to RELAX!!

Oh my gosh!! I feel for you!! Not sure what you can do about the ADR's--sorry. A thought for you might be to go mini golfing?? My DS loves to go mini golfing. We have not done either of the two at WDW, but they sure look fun.

Houseguests for three weeks :faint: !!!

Thursday: Boma for dinner

Friday: MK eat counter service

Saturday: Epcot and Candlelight Processional dinner package at your favorite Epcot restaurant

Sunday: AM come see me at the Spa at Saratoga Springs for massages, then head over to Boardwalk area to check out those hotels. Eat at MGM Brown Derby for a late lunch.

Done - seriously!

THANK YOU!

As soon as I can get my mother off the phone and pick DS up from school I'm calling WDW.

Maybe I'll try for a Character something Friday morning...but otherwise this sounds perfect!

It will be a great trip. The resorts are decorated for Christmas. Be sure to visit the lobbies of the deluxe resorts.
As for PS - call from your hotel upon arrival if you don't get to it before you leave. We actually got PS for Cinderalla's Castle the night before.

Which course do you prefer? DS would like golfing. We can put Winterland/Summerland on the itinerary for Thursday night w/Boma since we'll be in that area.

Or Fantasia late Sunday morning w/out DH.

How about wandering over to the Grand Floridian to check out their Christmas decorations and having dinner at Citrico's. We ate there this past summer and it was sooooo good! I had three kids with me (two of them were 14 and one was 10) and they just really loved their meal and desserts. The whole ambience of the Grand Floridian just says "VACATION" to me and I can only imagine how beautiful it looks during the holiday season.

Never been there, sounds good. Will try for it for dinner on the MK day.

See I knew the CB would rescue me!

I'll be calling in about an hour. I need to get DS from school and get lunch together.

I hope you get it--I just loved that place. And my teenage girls who were with me went up and "chatted" with the chef and he made their desserts extra special!

You willl have a grat time seeing all the decorations!

I like the lake area at MGM to sit by and look at the pretty trees.over by Primetime Cafe. I would also suggest Primetime at MGM and Plaza Pavilion at MK if your other choices don't work out.

Definitely do the Processional. It's awesome.

herc.

You got me curious - I HAD to go look at your post on the Planning Board - sheesh! Those people really thought you were asking them to plan your trip!! yikes! kinda makes you wanna stay on the CB, doesn't it?!

Hang in there - and have fun!

You should do Crystal Palace for breakfast on Friday morning. :)

Have fun!

Not that I helped you out with your planning, but I did reply to your other thread. You were not out of line, but that other poster was!

Geez Louise, I just read that post! What a snark...

Last year before my June trip, I did the same thing as you. I just felt so overwhelmed with planning the trip. I don't know why. I have planned several trips before and always really got into it. But, I couldn't be commando enough last time.

I remember going on either the Trip Planning board or the Restaurant board and basically asking the same thing. Just looking for people to throw out a "shell of a trip" for me so I could get started. And I also like people's logic on why or why not do a certain park on a specific day. That's what this place is for right??? Anyway, I guess I was lucky not to get my head bit off.

You might want to try the restaurant board. I find if I try to plan a trip around "meals" that usually works. :teeth:

Thanks for the support. That thread has been closed. I wasn't really being a baby about it, I really just don't have time to babysit and participate in a snarkfest and debate about whether or not the request was appropriate. I also didn't want people going through any effort if I wasn't going to be monitoring the thread.

I've PM'd the posters who were helpful.

I should have gone with my gut and just kept in on the CB.

As soon and I finish eating my sandwich and my address labels are done printing I'm making the call!

Here's what I got
Thursday night - Boma
Friday AM Crystal Palace, evening Citrico's back up being the Plaza Restaurant.
Saturday - Candlelight Processional package, I'm going to try for LeCelier with the Teppanyaki Dining room as a backup...
Sunday - Brown Derby.

hercamore - we did Primetime in Sept. It was yummy. Depending on what time I get Brown Derby (DH's fav) I might put it on the list for dessert....yummm smores!

I've emailed this to DH and my dad just to see if there are any major objections. DH will want the California Grill w/my dad babysitting but we just might have to skip that this trip. Maybe we can do drinks there friday night and have my dad return to MK with DS. We have a car and don't mind running around. DH, dad and I are all easily ammused by people watching and DS will be happy with a handful of rides!

If you are still going to Boardwalk how about going to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. They dont take reservations you just wait for a table but they have the best ice cream in disney world. You can just get a hamburger and fries if you want something small. They even let your share the hamburger. They cut it in half and put it on two different plates.
