Hi y’all; at the 11 month mark as of yesterday for a potential May 2022 trip...

For background, my folks have owned at OKW since 1996, & we usually go on their points, staying in a 2BR.

Theyre traveling across country next year (driving across the US & even up to Alaska, as long as Covid is stable & the borders open in Canada!) They’ll be gone for 3 months!

Nonetheless, they’re using their points in Vero, at OKW, possibly in Disneyland, during their trip & making us pay for our own ::wahhh, cry face::

I’m looking at the Polynesian Deluxe Studio, Standard View, (188 points I believe for a 10 night stay). It’s myself, husband, a 5 year old & a 2 year old who’d sleep in a pack & play. Our trip in April, we brought a kids blow up travel bed & my oldest loved it so we’ll probably go that route again.

I’m new to this: when do I look to book / rent? Now at 11 months? I keep seeing mention of 7 months as well...

Is it feasible to put the baby in the 2nd bathroom in the pack & play?

& is there floor space for a kids sized blow up bed in the standard studio? The room size at OKW is unparalleled, we’ve been spoiled.

I’ve been to Disney over 30x but this is my first trip planning myself, without my Mom (or her free points LOL)

Any & all tips or advice or personal opinion on the Poly (& if I’m at least going in a good direction) is beyond appreciated.

Thank y’all!

The bathrooms in the studios at Poly are kind of small. I don't think a pack & play would fit in them. That said there is a large empty area by the door where it would fit.

I believe the Poly has the small pull down murphy bed that could be used for your 5 year old, then you could leave the sofa bed as a sofa and you'd have room for the pack n play.

I don’t want to be near her lol; even now at 1 she is a loud sleeper - thank you!

Really?! I had no idea about a potential Murphy Bed at Poly. How do I confirm such? Thank you!

What is your home resort? You can book your home resort with points at 11 months. If it's not you have to wait until 7 months.

I think you could put the pack and play in either bathroom. It would fit easily in the big bathroom, but then if you need to use the toilet at night you'll wake them up. I would probably put it in the small bathroom at night, then pack it up in the morning so you could use the sink and rain shower.

I have no home LOL.. My parents are owners at OKW since 96. But are using all their points during their cross country try trip next year.

So you are booking with cash? Or renting points? You mentioned 188 points for a ten night stay.

When we stayed at Poly last fall, I found out that teens snore. ::yes::
Ah! Then you understand. My first child is quiet as a mouse. A dainty princess. My 2nd child, 1, broke her elbow & wrist this weekend falling off the rocker in her nursery & has an entire arm cast. She is the loud sleeper / wild woman I want away from me LOL

188 points was what was generated on the DVC points calculators. I am looking to privately rent through someone on here, or through a reputable FB renter, etc.
***again- just starting my research / booking process.

You can rent at 11 months. Since it’s your first time, I’d recommend working with one of the brokers

Agree. Since you're renting, you can be renting at the 11 month window.

All studios at Poly sleep 5. There is a pullout couch and a small murphy bed. I stayed there last fall, 5 of us. Myself, wife, and 3 teens. We all fit.

Poly is our home resort, Stargazer65 is correct.

As mentioned there is the pull down murphy bed. If your 5 yo loved the blow up bed they'll probably love the murphy bed even more.

The bathroom with the tub/shower/sink/toilet is quite large and could accommodate the pack n play but then it's the part with the toilet so you might want to tuck the pack n play into the area with the connecting door to the next room. You should be able to find a spot somewhere that isn't in the same area as you sleep.

For renting it's always safest to do it during the home priority booking period. PVB often has availability at 7 months but personally I'd just go ahead and find someone to rent from that can book in the 11-7 month window.

Just before you rent, read about the risks of renting. Renters are not as lenient as your parents if your plans change!
