I am having a stress free Thanksgiving. I am going to my MIL's today and my parents' house tomorrow. I don't have to rush from house to house. I am so glad that my family switched to Friday a few years ago.
Even though I made a ton of food for my sister's and so did my mom, we agreed that this is the less stress holiday meal we ever had and she is hosting for 40.
We did go ahead and make everything before the dinner. I am boiling potatoes to mash and bring over.
We just have to go to her house and then heat everything up, put in crockpots and or ovens, and then make gravy. She has a buffet table with power strips ready for the buffet line.
This is my first year making dinner for me, DH, my parents and grandma. Despite this, and not being a great cook, things are completely stress free here! I'm watching the parade, peeling potatoes, etc.
Stress free here! dinner was simple and done yesterday and I cooked a Thankgiving breakfast this a.m. So my dishes are don and I'm getting ready to put up my tree at a leisurely pace. Ready to relax. May or may not shop tomorrow and a HS football game tomorrow night. Right now, all is good in my little world!
Stress free here. Only my family is here. Kids and DH(there are 6 of us) And it SNOWED today!
I have the turkey breast in the oven. Potatoes are made, Stuffing is in a box so easy and the spinach pies are all that are left to be made. DD is making brownies and we'll have brownie sundaes for dessert.
Perfect for us!
We'll do crazy at my mom's next weekend.
We just finished appetizers of stuffed mushrooms, (homemade) potato skins- store bought and thai shrimp wegman's mmmm.
The most stressful thing about today has been putting the danged tree together. It's just me, DW and our cat. Dinner will be ready in about an hour & a half. DW is watching tv and I'm listening to music. Life is good.
We always have a stress free thanksgiving. My daughter and her boyfriend came over to eat and then played WII for a while with her dad. We just don't stress out over holidays. My life is too short to go around family members that I don't like and that are troublemakers!! I often wonder why people put themselves through so much grief!
We had a lovely day! I made a nice breakfast this morning. We finished our Christmas decorating then we headed to Cracker Barrel for dinner. It was delicious and extremely reasonable. Now, we're watching the Lighting of the Great Tree and then it's on to Aggie football. This has been one of our best Thanksgivings because there was NO FAMILY DRAMA!
