Street Parking in Washington D.C.

Does anyone know if there is any street parking near the monuments in D.C.? It would be on a Sunday morning so I'm thinking it won't be crowded? The Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Memorial are my main interests. The last time we visited we were able to easily find a space near the mall at a meter on a Sunday morning but it was Memorial Day weekend. The Rolling Thunder parade was that day and their meeting place was the Lincoln Memorial so it was totally nuts. I can remember finding spaces pretty easily when I was there 20 years ago, I don't know if there have been changes since 9/11?

There is a free parking lot over by the Jefferson Memorial. From there my DH and I took one of the hop on/hop off bus tour, so I can't comment on walking distance from there.

There is still parking over at Lincoln Memorial. There isn't an abundance of it but it is there and fairly easy to find. I don't know the names of the streets but I know the parking is in a circle with one way streets going in and coming out and it makes a big loop if you miss it.

You can park near the Lincoln Memorial and then walk over to the Vietnam Wall and don't miss the Korean Memorial. I think it's gorgeous personally and one of my favorites.

Just be advised that a lot of spaces have a two hour limit. If you go early you should be ok. (it is not 4th of July is it, that is on a Sunday this year!)

Thanks everyone! We'll be there next weekend. I remember that parking was free on Sundays at meters. I don't think we'll be there more than 2 hours, I'm hoping they don't bother much on Sundays (-; Thanks for all of the info!
