humor me. just need to vent a little and this is really the only place that would even understand half of what im saying.

1) still waiting ,in my appt, to see the results of my backround check. not sure why Disney waits until you get here to do this. i thought the backround deal was done before they accepted an applicant. for me, its something that happened in 1996! nothing major, but enough to trip me up. im pretty confident that it will be resolved. because Thursday was a gov't holiday, i am being forced to wait until monday......freaking crazy. been here for 6 days and have accomplished very little.

2) earlier today, i was sitting in my living "area" and was streaming TV on my laptop. i had the back door open and security walked by and confronted me about it. i was simply trying to get some air into the appt after cooking. WORDS OF ADVICE: do not leave your doors or windows open. it is dangerous. you are much safer walking around after hours or being at the gym at 1am. ......apparently

3) also just tried to do my first load of laundry since i arrived. it wouldve been incredibly helpful to know, before hand, that you needed a 5 dollar bill. not 5 ones. not 25 quarters or 50 dimes, but a 5 dollar bill, to get a "money card". what a freaking hassle.

4) also helpful to know wouldve been the fact that you need a Disney ID to use the CPU lab at Vista. needed to use the lab after Chatham had closed and decided to drive to Vista to use them. no dice. however, you do not need an ID for the Commons or Chatham. lesson learned.

5) attempting to meet people here has been more difficult than i had anticipated. people genuinely look frightened when you walk past them and most dont make eye contact. very weird. been to the gym nearly every day and the pool a couple of times. kinda comical. hoping it gets better once "work" starts.

i feel a little better.

thank you for your time. =)

haha maybe everyone looks frightened because they're scared nervous to meet new people! I'm sure they all want to make friends but don't know where to start! But im sure once you get working, you'll have no problem making friends. A friend of mine who recently came back from the DCP said that most of the friends she made and hung out with were the ones she worked with rather than roommates and people that lived near her!

Good luck and I hope everything turns out well!!

haha It will definitely get better once work starts. I think that's how most of us made friends during my program. I made friends with the boys across the hall at Vista Way, and another group of guys I met waiting for the bus to go to Custodial training. Otherwise, all my friends were MK West Custodial. No worries, I can't imagine a person going through the CP without making a ton of lifelong friendships.

Also, along the lines of security getting onto you for having your door opened... I got in trouble for hanging a towel out to dry outside. And also for having shoes outside. haha. It's ridiculous. I'm pretty sure it's a liability issue. They can't be responsible for what might get stolen.

good luck on your program. if you are this miserable now, you are really not going to like working. don't unpack.

maybe take the time to read the stuff they gave you during check in. cause some of the stuff you are ranting about is definitely covered in that. the "no one told me" won't really fly when they gave you info to read (and some of it you signed indicating that you did).

the only thing im actually hating is the fact that the backround check has been a nightmare. ive learned over the course of the last few days that there are descrepancies in the information that is on my file and the WDW Backround Group is requesting a document stating that i am (to put it in fewer words) clear of any wrong doing. however, the courts have no record of me and the local records agency refuses to give me any documents staing that. however, they did clean my information up so that there isnt any more suspect info.

been on the phone all day with both WDW and the records dept and because of "policy" and petty red tape ,i am basically screwed.

....hopefully i can get someone to help me out tomorrow otherwise it looks like im on my way home. how sad

thanks for the input everyone
