I just found out about this chilled strawberry soup at 1900 Park Fare. :rotfl: Can someone explain what it is or try to describe the taste? Does it just taste like strawberries? Sorry for the stupid questions, I've just never heard of it before. Thanks!

They must have served this soup at restaurants other than 1900 Park Fair because I've never eaten there, yet had this soup back in '98 at Cape May (I think). I'm no stranger to hot and cold fruit soups, as they are standard in German (and European) cuisine, but this one was a revelation. I'd never tasted a fruit soup this good and when I saw the recipe, it was clear why, LOL. Loads of cream! It could be a strawberry milkshake!

I served it as a first course at many summer dinner parties and it's always a huge hit.

We had strawberry soup for the first time in December on our trip with the kids... it was delicious! Tasts kind of reminds me of a strawberry smoothie in texture and taste. Very refreshing and light. I even got the recipe and made it at home and the kids love it as a special treat every once and awhile!

And where did you eat it? Tell us please :worship:

I hate strawberries so I didn't try it but DD said it was wonderful at 1900 Park Fare. She said it was kind of like a strawberry smoothie or shake.

Strawberries is my favorite fruit so I have to try this soup when we go there on the 21st of next month. Sounds good.

We had the soup at 1900 Park Fare...

I got the recipe off of www.allears.net under dining and a link for Disney recipes. The recipe I made was different from the one posted in this thread... I"ll have to try the other to see if it is any different...

:goodvibes

I thought it tasted like melted strawberry ice cream. Not bad, but also not what I want to eat for dinner. I gave mine to my 6 yo who was quite happy with it.

It kind of tastes like a refreshing strawberry smoothie, but is a little bit warm. It was delicious and we return to 1900 Park Fare just to have it!
