Strawberry Shortcake toy age?

I picked up a few strawberry shortcake toys sets and my pony items because it was a great sale.

I was thinking of my cousin's child who is 7, almost 8 years old. Is she getting too old for these items?

I have not seen her in over a year and I have no idea what that age is into but wanted to pick up a little something in case they stop in over the holidays.

Truthfully, that's a tough one. It depends on how 'sophisticated' your niece is. My DD is 8 and still plays with both, in fact I 'made' a dress for her Strawberry Shortcake yesterday. If asked, she'll still play with both, but I could see some of the girls at her school thinking it was too young.

My almost 5 year-old loves SS and is getting some sort of SS red berry house thing for XMas as her "big" gift in fact! I could still see her playing with this stuff at 7 or 8 so I'd go with it.
