How far is the Straw Market and Del Sol (have to get the nail polish!) from where the Wonder docks? Those are the only two places that we are interested in and then we want to go back to the ship.

How big is the Straw Market? Will it take long to go through? Are there any other "Cheap" places that you would recommend that we seek out?

I believe there are two Del Sol shops. The closest one is about four blocks from the terminal area.

Here is the best map I could find of the area:

at the top you will see Price George Wharf, that is where the ship will be docked. You can see that the Straw Market is right there. Take you about 5 minutes or so to walk from the ship to there, just head out to Bay Street and turn right... Follow the crowd ;) The Straw Market is not overly huge, but there are a lot of little things there so it can take some time, but it won't be an all day event.

Here is a link to Del Sol's web page for Nassau http://www.bahamasgo.com/delsol.htm
The store is located on Bay Street as well, not sure exactlly where, but you will have to pass it on the way to the Straw Market (from the ship you will be starting at the first stores on Bay Street and the Straw Market is basically the last shopping area on Bay Street so Del Sol will be in the middle somewhere (The stores are all on Bay Street between East Street and George Street) :)...

If you go down ONE aisle in the straw market you have pretty much seen everything they have there LOL....each aisle is just the same thing over and over and over but with different pushy people selling it. There isn't much room down the aisles to push a stroller (found that out the hard way!). Del Sol wasn't far from there, certainly walking distnace.

We just went to Del Sol on Monday...They give you a free gift when you show them your shopping map from the ship. It was a free color change ring.
Mines a sun (goes to yellow). The t's are pricey but we got one. Color change polish was $8 each but buy 3(or was it 4?) and get one free.

I got hair clips that change colors and they were $8 for three clips.

(If you can...get your purchases in seperate shopping bags from the store as the shopping bags change color too)

What is shopping like on Nassau? Is the COACH store worth checking out, or are the prices comparable to U.S.? What about Jewelry?

I've heard the straw market was not a big deal, but I've never been anyplace even remotely like it. Are you expected to barter? I read that kids should just stay on ship that day, they probably will have no interest in going anyway (DD's 3 & 5.)

Thanks for the info.
