Strategy for planning for OKW for next Easter?

We've only stayed at our home resort...and never during Easter spring break which I know is a busy time.

Next Easter (2007), I'd like to get a studio at either OKW or SSR. Should I go ahead and book at our home resort BCV at the 11 month window first and then make the switch at 7 months? We can always fall back on staying at BCV again if we can't get anything anywhere else.

Thanks for any tips!

We own at BWV and I was able to get a studio (for Easter week) at OKW at the exact seven-month date. There were quite a few studios available at OKW for Easter week (I did not have anything booked at BWV as a backup). After a few days at OKW we are spending 3-nights at VERO.

LAst November I booked SSR and Waitlisted BWV(it came through)...and I only had 4 months notice...but I was close...because when the WaitList came through there were many people on a WaitList just to get a room. SO I would think you would be ok at 7 months...if you didn't want to have expiring points...book 6 nights at your home resort and 1 night in cash...then at the 7 month window switch over to OKW and cancel the cash ressie- this way you will not have the extra points in a use or loose situation(if you borrow points for the Easter trip). If you decide to just keep your home reservation switch the cash ressie to points asap...so there is avability in points. Good Luck :thumbsup2

We always stayed at Old Key West for two weeks during Easter and always managed to make reservations 2-3 months out. It usually wasn't pretty....lots of gaps at first...but with the waitlist and frequent calls to Member Services, we have always been able to put our reservation together. Easter at Old Key West is great. They have the best egg hunt. The parks are just jammed, by the way and in some ways, it's more important to have your dinner reservations lined up than your room!!

We always stay at OKW for Easter. OKW is not our home resort, so we are booking at 5-7 months out with absolutely no problem. I would suggest that those who want a 2 bedroom book ASAP as I've heard a lot of people talking around the resort over the years that 2 bedrooms are harder to get around Easter. A studio should honestly be no problem. We've always stayed in studios until this year when I booked a 1 bedroom at 4 months out.

Alexander--is the "binkie" marker mean 95 days until your trip, or 95 days until Baby? Pixie dust for both! pixiedust:
