We'll be in DL next week and I'm expecting huge crowds due to the fall break here in Utah and parts of Arizona. While we are no stranger to crowds...we did DL on THanksgiving Day 2004, it was crazy busy. We survived Christmas at WDW in 2005. We've also been to DL numerous other times but not with big crowds. Here's my itinerary, I'd love any input:
Wednesday...arrive around 3, hang out at hotel and DTD
Thursday..Disneyland, taking advantage of MM.
Friday...Knotts
Saturday and Sunday...Disneyland and DCA, again using MM to get the slow moving line rides done.

The kids want to stay and close down the park one night, we'll probably try that on Sunday because we leave on Monday and the kids can sleep in a little. My main question...is Friday a good day for Knott's or am I just looking at crowds regardless of what my plan is? That's what I'm thinking is that we're toast as far as crowds...but we don't care. We're in DISNEY!

We'll be there and I already have a strategy worked out. I'm hoping for not so bad crowds. I know they won't be light but I hope they'll be doable. Here's our schedule:

Monday- travel day. arrive 3pm, check in and head to DCA for Pixar parade, a few rides, back to room early. :cool1:

Tues- DL am, back to room for break in pm, back to park in evening

Wed- DL am, back to room for break in pm, back to park in evening

Thurs- Aquarium of the Pacific during day, TOT party that night

Fri- Goofys kitchen, relax, swim, DL in evening for fireworks

Sat- Head home :sad1:

I really hope it cools off for you guys. It was 105 degrees in Anaheim yesterday!!!!! I'm going to DL this weekend, I hate it when it's like an oven down there, but I haven't been since we got back from WDW and I really gotta get there!!!!

It's supposed to cool down. They're predicting mid 70's to low 80's. Locals say add 5 degrees to that for DL. That's just about doable.

OP, your schedule sounds good. You've read Hydroguy's tips about getting the most out of FP during high season, right? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483 We used them during the INSANELY busy week after Easter this year, and we never waited more than 20 minutes at the most. (ok, nearly half an hour for Monsters Inc, but that was because I messed up our ride order, would have been almost walk-on if I'd done it right :) )

KKmcan, you know the only thing I see on your itinerary, is you might want to try to stay for the fireworks Monday night-- they are having them on Columbus Day. Just because sometimes they get canceled for high winds-- it's good to catch them early if you can, in case you just waited until Friday night and they happened to be canceled. :sad1: That would be sad.

How bad are the crowds supposed to be?? Cause my two sisters were going to go next wed. (without me :(..i know..so sad) but I was just curious..is it like summer crowds?? any input from those who have experienced this week??
