Strategy for EE in the dark AND Pandora in the dark!

I've noticed several times that the EE posted wait times were a bit inflated during RoL. It said 20 minutes and it took dh and ds around 5 minutes to ride. This was on a night of 2 shows, during the 1st show.

Pandora at dusk is very pretty. I love being there when the lights first turn on. Pandora at dark looks completely different. Very beautiful. Personally, I enjoy seeing both dusk and dark.

I'd TOTALLY do that, but I don't think the 8-year-old with us would be cool with riding alone!
We had our 7-year-old with us in the single rider line. We made sure that one parent went first so that we'd be waiting for him at the exit and one parent went behind. A parent ended up directly behind him one time and 2 rows away another time. I'm a protective parent, and have myself experienced behind stuck on a rollercoaster as a kid, so this was a leap for me. But, we had ridden 2 previous times riding together (so he knew he loved it) and the single rider line was his idea (he's a brave, confident kid). So, don't count it out, if you think your kid is up for it! (My DD will probably have to be at least 10 before she will want to ride without being next to a family member, so I totally understand if it's not a good option for your kid.)

Interesting - I was wondering about the effect before full dark!

Thanks for this. She LOVED Expedition Everest when she was 6 - we did it like five times in a row - but she always got scared (which was so cute) in the cave part. I suppose that's why I was thinking she wouldn't want to ride alone. But she'll be 8 - almost 9 - this trip, and that might make a significant difference! Whatever situation we find ourselves in that night, I'll keep single rider in the back of my mind. Really, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

So, I'm adding this off-topic bit as a little explanation: I just realized I was dismissing single rider because she's not my child. Ha! The child in question is my cousin (and goddaughter, as I always remind her!). As much nannying and general childcare as I've done, the fact that I'll be responsible for her for 6 days (it'll be my sister, my cousin, and me) is making my CAUTIOUS side come out. Now that I think about it, though, she'll probably be fine with single rider and I'LL be the one missing HER in the Yeti cave. :)
