Strategy for EE in the dark AND Pandora in the dark!

Hi all,
Perhaps this is a silly question, but it's important enough to me to put it out there! Our cousin loved Expedition Everest in the dark, and - shocker here - we'd love to ride twice in a row :), one time using fp+ and one time going standby. We'd also love to see Pandora at night.

What's the best strategy to make this happen?

We have a fp+ for the park's last hour, 8:30-9:30.

Late April civil twilight ends at 8:22 and nautical twilight is at 8:50. Having never been, I'm not sure how much the nighttime aspect of Pandora can be appreciated at 'civil twilight.'

If it’s for EE, ride right at 8:30 with FP then hop in the line again and head to Pandora after that. In my experience EE wait goes down in the last hour.

I want to try EE at night also. We will be there end of August. I know no one knows for sure, but do you think the lines be low enough to ride it twice without FP towards the end of the night?

I’d get in standby first. Go single rider if you’re willing to be separated. Do that however far ahead of twilight the wait time is (if it’s a 20 minute standby line and twilight is 8:22, get in line at 8:02), then use FP to ride again and then go check out pandora. This will put you in Pandora as quickly as possible after nightfall

In my (limited) summer experience, EE lines get pretty low in the evening, especially while Rivers of Light is running. Like to the point where we would get off and go right back to the entrance and wait maybe 15 minutes at most. I can't remember how many times in a row we rode it but at least 4 or 5 back to back. Of course, this was last June and Pandora was still brand new so who knows if that will hold. You should be able to re-ride multiple times without issue.

You will have to keep close eye on the time and when the park closing time is. If you ride EE w/ a FP at 8:30 then by the time you are off it could be 8:45-8:50 --- if park is closing at 9:00 then you would have to quickly get to Pandora to get in line before 9pm. You could try to ride Everest early at 8:00 to get in the 2 rides then head over to Pandora. The key is getting into the line at Pandora before the official closing time.

I don’t know if this is standard, but when we were there earlier in the month Pandora was closing half an hour earlier than the rest of the park. So watch for that. I didn’t notice it listed anywhere but there were signs in the area.

Thanks for replying!!

EE standby first around 8, EE fp+ next, and then Pandora. While the EE standby line may be a bit longer, I suppose this is the safest way to make sure we get to Pandora before park close!

Is there a line to get in to Pandora? Or just at certain times of the day?

Yikes, I will watch for that!

Like Alesia said, probably. And you'll love it!!!

There is no line to get into Pandora. I think the pp was thinking you meant the Avatar Flight of Passage ride. The only time there’s a line for pandora is in the morning at opening - and that’s more of a crowd at the rope than an actual line.

Gotcha. Thanks!

That's really good information. Thanks for sharing!

This is definitely not the norm. I wonder if they had an after hours private event that evening and wanted the area cleared out by closing time.

EE in the dark is awesome! Yeah do EE standby or single rider first, then FP then book it to Pandora. We haven't bothered with Pandora last couple trips in the dark because we love EE more, but both are fun to experience in the dark. I'd recommend walking around Pandora in daytime if you haven't experienced it before, as it can be confusing to navigate in dark.

Single Rider line for EE is clutch. We've waited no more than 10 minutes and had multiple times when 3 or 4 of us ended up in the same train (different rows/train cars).

I'd TOTALLY do that, but I don't think the 8-year-old with us would be cool with riding alone!

Do EE at the beginning of the window, ride again, then go to Pandora. Pretty easy. Remember as long as you get in line for a ride before park closing, you are guaranteed to get on unless it breaks down. So if you get in line for FOP at 9:30, you’ll get on even if the wait is an hour or two.
