How anyone done this?

DS is 7 and is already questioning Santa so I feel like this may be my last year for the magic.

I live in the Philly area but the New Hope ride is ridiculously expensive. Strasburg is about 1/2 the price.

Just looking for reviews if it's worth the 1.5 hours to get there. I've never been to the train museum or the Choo Choo Barn, so we might do that too.

TIA!

Funny timing. We're going to Lancaster this week. We did the Strasbourg railroad last year and it's really nice. We didn't do the Santa version though.

The Strasburg Railroad ride is nice. We had annual passes to it and the Choo Choo Barn when my DS was younger. There is the museum across from the railroad and National Museum not far from there also. I believe Dutch Wonderland is open during holiday weekends that you could include in your visit.

We used to drive up from MD every year to ride the Santa Train with our grandson when he was younger and then visit Dutch Wonderland in the afternoon. Yes, it is a lot of fun for younger kids! Dutch Wonderland is open on the weekends in December. All of the rides are not operating, but there is a reduced admission price and they have Christmas lights and displays up. Ride the train in the morning and visit the Choo Choo barn and Train museum, the head to Dutch Wonderland.
