I love reading about magical moments. Mostly they come from cast members going above and beyond the call of duty for a child or family, but one of my most magical moments came from a cast member at the end of his pixie dust trying to tame an angry mob of people waiting waaaay to long for a bus at AKL. My husband and I were making our way through the crowd to another stop, avoiding pitchforks, torches and the like. Just as we got to the poor CM he said " like, can anybody juggle?" It was really weird. I never thought I would be called on to entertain on vacation, but i can juggle and momma always told me to tell the truth, so I piped up, "I can!" The CM looked so relieved. I did some basic three ball juggling and threw in a little cascade and a turn under the last ball for the crowd and got a round of applause! The cast member gave me a heart felt thank you and we made our way to our stop. It made me feel so special and I wonder to this day if maybe someone in that crowd thought I was a plant!

So what is everyone else's strangest magical moment?

One that we laugh about the most was a bus story too.

We were waiting forever for a bus to leave the parks. It was late, the weather icky & everybody was tired.

When the bus finally got there we knew we were way too far back to get on it. However, we had an unique bus driver. He made it fun as he had us to move on back & pack the bus. He packed it fuller than I ever believed possible. We All loaded onto that bus & we were packed like sardines!

Everybody was happy to get a ride & it was a jolly ride back to our resort. That's been years back but we'll never forget that bus ride!

This is further proof that WDW really is magic. No were else on earth can have crowded buses be "fun" ...ish.

My wife and I were celebrating our fifth anniversary it the food and wine festival. She had gotten us buttons, which I reluctantly agreed to wear. after the 1000th happy anniversary and numerous free tidbits at the food kiosks we got our first taste of fairy dust.

We were walking through the world past a CM standing at the entrance to a private party that was going to be viewing Illuminations. She wished us happy anniversary and made some light small talk with us. I was getting ready to move on when she asked if we had any special plans to watch the fireworks. we admitted we were just circling looking for a good spot. she handed us two tickets and told us to come back ten minutes before the start.

we made one more excited lap around the world and reported ten minutes before. we were allowed down to a spot below the private party, were we could sit on a wall and watch the fireworks.

I know she was probably charged with finding people to give out those little tickets too, but it really made our trip to get such VIP treatment

and I will unabashedly wear any pin in Disney forevermore.

My sister, my two adult daughters and myself were at world of disney. Both my daughters were wearing Doctor Who shirts. A CM came up and started talking about Doctor Who and telling my girls that those were the coolest shirts he had ever seen. The girls told him they were Christmas gifts from me.

After a bit, he said hang on, and left to get something. He returned with buttons that he wrote "Celebrating being awesome" on my girls' buttons and "Celebrating being an awesome Mom" on my button. It was so cool and we enjoyed wearing the buttons for the rest of our trip.

This incident does not involve a CM. rather a young couple paying it forward.

My son and I who was probably around 12 to 13 yrs old at the time were waiting in line to purchase entry tickets for Epcot. I was intently, reading options offered for ticket purchase, and hanging back a bit until I decided the best option for our need. There were several families, holding back until their decision was made. I did notice a younger couple slightly to the side of us discussing between one another what to do. They approached me and asked if my son and I were seeking tickets for Epcot. I answered honestly, I was addressing our options. This lovely young couple, offered the remaining ticket on their multi ticket purchase. I was touched at the gesture. We accepted the offer graciously, and we paid it forward by offering a kind gesture to another park enthusiast. This has been many years, my son is now an adult.
A kindness of that magnitude is in your heart forever. A life lesson my son witnessed firsthand, which is priceless.
WDW is magical, kindness abounds.

When I was teenager, my mom took me and my two best friends to Disney several times. Once time we had reservations for Cinderella's Round Table (I think it was still King Stefan's back then). We checked in and then waited around a bit until they called our names. During our wait, the Fairy Godmother walked right up and started talking to us. I don't know if this is how she was supposed to be, but she was COMPLETELY out of character. It was hilarious and one of my favorite Disney memories.

We were at the Fairy nook meeting Tinkerbell and Periwinkle. My kiddos were in costume, my 6 yr old (at the time) done up as capt. hook.

Tink is giving my son the business over his costume. Not totally convinced that he's not really Hook. And like a professional she's weaving the things she says to my son with things she says to me like: you've got a strong back right? and things like that. There was a wink wink, nudge nudge, element to it that I did not pick up on at the time.

So the son went over to Periwinkle while me and daughter waited on Tink to finish an autograph when I hear Peri tell my son to scare Tinkerbell. Which I thought was funny till I hear Tink dead pan to me "You can catch this book right?"

"Not a problem", says I with earnest conviction.

But... she didn't say "You can catch this book right?". That's just what my brain told me she said.

What she actually said was "You're okay to catch me right?".

So My son pulls his plastic sword and screams and she jumps straight into my arms. I grab at the autograph book I thought I was supposed to catch and end up sending it sailing; a handler catches it like a pro... doesn't even blink.

The photopass gunner had my camera for the shot (better than his own rig) and the SD Card never made it home.

Even without a photo that was the funniest Disney moment I have ever experienced.

ETA: I did not drop the pixie. I think her costume weighed more than she did.

I doubt this is true. mulit day tickets are only good for the person who used the ticket on the first day. (yes, even back then).

are you maybe one of those people who try to resell partially used tickets? is this a way to convince people that partially used tickets can be used by a different party?

A similar thing happened to my friends and I once back in...2002, I think? A nice guy at Downtown Disney gave us passes with a day left that he wasn't going to be using. We didn't really expect them to be valid, but we planned to go to Blizzard Beach anyway so we figured we may as well try. Worked just fine. Probably can't be done these days, but no need to question somebody's magical memory!

More than 10 years ago we took a family trip. This was before anyone had kids, so we were a rowdy group of 'twenty & thirtysomethings' out to dinner in Italy (Alfredo's then).

A whole lots of eating and drinking going in and we were having a blast with the waiters. When they brought out the dessert tray at the end of the night, they starting describing the tempting choices on the cart as they actually were..plastic fake food! Something along the lines of "We have a delicious wax-filled, plastic triangle..you'll love it". Then they started tossing us the fake food in the air..I think I caught a plastic scoop of ice cream! It was so hilarious...we were In tears laughing.

Definitely the strangest of magical moments for sure!

We have had multiple family members use same pass in last few years. They were no expiration passes.

On a DCL, DW and I were on our 25th anniversary.
On the first morning, we went to breakfast, when we came back to the room, someone had placed decorations all over our door announcing our anniversary to everyone who passed by. Our cabin steward stated that he had never seen this happen to anyone, he stated that he did not put up the decorations, and that he did not know who put up the decorations. We still do not know who put these up and were very surprised to find them.

I will question anything I think might not be on the up and up. If it is, great. the only way to prevent scams is to not be afraid to question someone.

I'm sorry if this story was true and anyone was "insulted". I still say , at least these days, partially used tickets cannot be used by anyone else. so don't fall for buying them from someone.
as soon as Disney and the local police crack down on these culprits (usually on 192) they turn around and set up shop again, preying on innocent tourists, just trying to get the best deal.

I guess smidgy hasn't been around very long. Park tickets were not assigned to a particular person until fairly recently. My family still has tickets that will not expire, that we can still use like that.

We just finished using days on tickets I bought in 2001. My daughter used the pass that was originally used by my ex. These tickets did not require finger scans and the days never expired so its very possible that this did happen and can still happen if someone has the old tickets.

sheesh.each of my sons still has one day left on their 5 day "super-duper passes"that we purchased in 1994. it was good for 5 days in the major parks, no expiration, and I think I remember up to 7 days in the "minor" parks. expired after X many days. don't remember how many (minor parks being Typhoon lagoon, blizzard beach?? and pleasure Island)

anyhow, we were told it was only good for the person who signed the ticket. no transfers.

I have been around for a while, and if I am mistaken, that's fine and dandy.. I'd actualy like to hear it! love to use those tickets, believe me!

I have asked before on the DIS and was told that they are the only ones who can use those tickets.
this is why I was wondering if Cheshire figment had an answer.

no reason for anyone to get all verklempt.

It is very well known that there are scammers trying to sell unused portions of tickets. wasn't trying to ruin any magical moments. just trying to protect people from scammers. if Im wrong, great! glad to hear it!

i have been blown off a bit by many a character signing an autograph, they see you as an adult and feel no need to give you extra attention or have an unstaged interaction.

well the second year i went i saw snow white come out in Epcot and figured i would add her to the collection, even though she is not my favorite. in spite of everyone thinking im much younger, she recognized my age at the time (mid twenties). she asked me very seriously if i had a prince, when i said no, she gave me a pep talk, including telling me that she slept in a glass coffin for a whole year waiting for her man to get her! she then had us interlace arms and said a special "wish" for me. she also made sure we posed for some great photos. my mother was a bit shocked, but it was nice to have that girl to girl talk and totally unexpected. i seriously think we spent at least 5 -10 minutes together and she was in no rush to get to the line behind me.

i think its harder to spread pixie dust to adults so its great to hear these stories.:thumbsup2
