Strange wheelchair rule?

Well we went on the ride about 5 times and each time they told us to enter in the exit. And they were different CM's each time so I can't imagine that all the CM's were mistaken that day. Also there was always a CM at the exit waiting there to let the wheelchairs in. (we weren't the only ones) So maybe this was something new they were trying out when we were there. :confused3

That does sound strange. I've riden R&R many times, my last time was in December 2006 and I've never been sent through the exit. Just to make sure...we are talking about R&R in WDW/MGM? :)

They really need to make sure the CM's are trained on what is required to get on the rides. My DW drove her scooter through the line for finding Nemo after the CM at the front of the line told us she would just need to transfer to a WC to get on the Clammobile (no problem) when we got to the front the CM doing the loading said she would have to be able to walk on to the moving side walk and get in, we explained that is not what we were told and pointed to the WC against the wall. We were told that those were other guests DW stayed behind while my DS's and I rode the ride, what was the Clammobile beside us, the WC accessible one.

Yup it was R&R at WDW/MGM. Like I said maybe they were testing out something new to see if that makes things easier :confused3 or maybe because it was so busy when we were there that they thought this would be the easiest for my brother. I have no idea. All I know is that we had a fast past went to line up there each time we went on the ride and everytime they sent us to the exit. We will be there in August so I guess we will have to just wait and see what happens.

This probably happened during the queue refurbishment this spring. They added the single rider line and re-routed fastpass. In the process the standby line was torn up and had steps. The only accessable entrance was the exit, but this was just for a short time this spring. It is back to normal now!

That was probably what is was. We were there in March and was told there were stairs where the fast pass line was. Either way my brother loved this ride and would have been happy no matter where he went into the ride. I'm sure when we are there in August everything will be back to normal.

They said we HAD to get a Fast pass to ride Rock n Roller. I assume that this was a CM that was mistaken, .
Most likely the CM was wrong. The exception would be if for that day the queueing area was being refurbished and a wheelchair would not fit through. This is probably a job for a supervisor since the line CM probably does not have blank fast passes to issue if applicable and the guest should not be relying on the regular fast pass rules in this situation nor be redirected to one entrance after another.

We were there the first of June and ds rode several times with his wheelchair going through the fastpass lane. There are no steps so things I guess are back to normal then.

These posts about changing rules are why we approach the CMs. Like on Buzz, we used to go thru the exit, now we go on the regular line, and then go thru the corridor to the exit, which makes us wait even longer than the regular folk, ironically. We do not go to WDW moe than once a year, so sometimes we forget the prodedure at each ride, too.
