Strange things in Disney store

Just returned from shopping with kids. During the trip we ended up in Disney store, they have marvel comic stand selling spiderman items.

What's going on

Disney purchased the rights to Marvel and it's characters last year.

They now have the rights to sell the merchandise in their stores

How will that effect universal spiderman ride

I do believe that Universal are keeping Marvel Island (for now), as I've not heard of any change. Although, I do believe that it won't be long before they try and find another alternative, as I can't see them wanting to give Disney a share in any merchandise sold Unless there's an agreement in place somewhere along the line.

they had this in our disney store lasted a week though it has gone again now and according to the staff with no plan to return so may be it didnt sell as well as their original merchandise

when were at US last year the staff were telling us that they had a period of time (10yrs i think but dont quote me on that) to "remove" the characters from the parks, but they will be removed

Was in the disneystore today and it was selling Marvel stuff (not much though).

The new Universal Studios annouced for Dubai includes the spiderman ride so they must be keeping theme park rights for the long term or they would not bother with a new park.

They'd got it in the Solihull store a couple of weeks ago. My DS thought it was wonderful, I thought it looked a bit out of place really.

Now I agree with this, I walked into the Trafford Centre store and it was smack-bang in the middle of the shop and it did look out of place.

If we have to have it, tuck it away in a corner, then it doesn't distract from the beautiful other Disney things
