For the past few months this has happened to me about once a week (it happend tonight and last Thursday). I work at night and am travelling this 2 lane road between 8:25 and 8:40pm 4 nights a week. I pass a car coming from the opposite direction, he switches to high beam and within a few seconds a light on top of the car flashes, just like a camera flash. I got a good look tonight at the light when it flashed, it's a round light and it is definitely on the roof of the car. It is definitely NOT an emergency vehicle light, it's just 1 light and it's in the center of the car on the roof. Now while this is just an annoyance to me, it might actually cause an accident for someone who is startled by it or has bad night vision (there are a ton of retirees in our subdivision). It is dark so I can't make out the color of the car or make of it, it is a small sporty car, I actually think it's an Acura Integra by the rear lights but can't be positive. My ? is, should I report this to the police? I'm sure this person must be coming home from work or school because I pass them around the same time in the same stretch of road.

If I was you, I would call the regular number (not 911) for the police department and tell them about it. They should decide what to do about it.

What would it hurt to call the police station tomorrow and talk to someone about it? I would call the non-emergancy number and tell them just what you told us. I'd alos say something like "I know this may sound silly, and may be no big deal, but I just want to make sure."

Oh, I definitely would just call the regular number not 911. It's just such an odd and random thing I'm wondering the police will think I'm

Don't worry...The police think we are all nuts.

I'm sure they hear much worse things all the time.

Just think...You might save someones life.
