Strange Split Stay

We love split stays, and I have POP/POFQ reserved for the beginning of January. I couldn’t get a discounted room for POP for that 4-night stay, but I have continued to look. Just for “fun” I added a day to our POP stay, and the discount for those five nights makes it cheaper than the original four night stay! At POFQ, I have a room for six days at a discount, but when I try to delete a night, there is nothing available there (?). So at this point, we have both POP and POFQ reservations for the changeover day. That would actually be good as we won’t be “homeless” on that day, but will two bookings for the same day cause problems?

It might. I remember reading about people having issues when they had two resorts booked for the same day in the past. At best I believe that your first reservation will end when you check into the second resort. So, there is probably no advantage to keeping the overlapping day. I agree with gottalovepluto that the best thing to do is call Disney reservations and get it straightened up now. You shouldn't have to lose your discount if you call.

We went through this issue when we got married at Disney. I didn’t want my future husband to see me night before so he got a separate room for that one night. But we had a room for the week that overlapped. It messed with his room key for the entire week. Had to constantly go to the front desk for them to fix it

Sounds like a perfect solution to one of the main problems with a split stay, namely being "homeless" for a day. This way you can relax on the transition day, taking as long as you like to move, and never be without a room. If I was you I would definitely want to keep the overlapping day. If you are worried about IT problems maybe put one of the reservations in a different name (a different member of your party)?

POFQ going through refurb...was supposed to be completed soon, but heard extending into 2025...they may have blocked off rooms now for the refurb.
