My DS has a very strange taste, he loves cheese and jam together in his sandwiches for school :confused3 ... Does anyone else put strange combinations together in there sandwiches?

Now you are talking , my kind of thread!

Well I have been known to eat mashed potato and jacket potato sandwiches(butties up north).

I have known people who have eaten sugar butties and also mint sauce one's...there is even a wonderful treat in store if you ever fancy a pie butty perhaps? Preferable Meat and Potato....

you have entered the world of Johnny the wierd

There are certainly some strange ones there Johnny :teeth: Im just a ham salad person :)

I agree - and I am not saying my tastes are common up in the North West...pie butties apart that is ;)

Joshua loves ham sandwiches as well as pork luncheon meat/corned beef etc but always takes the meat out first and eats that before eating the bread and butter...where does he get his bad habits from?

Hmmm I wonder :teeth:

I have heard of people having tomato sauce sandwiches before :) I just remembered I do have the odd wotsit sandwich :)

Me too. Cheesy wotsit sandwiches are lovely. The bread has to be really fresh and soft though - trouble is it tends to get stuck in your teeth :rotfl:

DH is partial to twiglet sandwiches when he's been drinking - he'll be disappointed when he finally rolls home tonight as we've no twiglets....and no bread :rotfl2:

LOL Joh Im glad im not the only one :)

Oh it definately has to be fresh bread :)

I like jam and cheese on toast - but my favourite sandwich has to be banana and cheese in really good wholewheat bread. Yum yum and best eaten with cheese and onion crisps.

Gill, why did I think you would say Caviar and Oysters (or some such combination) with a glass of champagne to wash it down ;)

I've been known to eat peanut butter, banana and rollmop herring sandwiches.

I'm a sandwich girl and would rather have a lovely sandwich compared to a dinner. I'm in the Subway Sandwich Shop at least once a week ;)

I'm one of those strange people who has a lovley lunch/dinner put in front of them and then cuts it all up and puts it in a sandwich. I like fish cake and salad sandwiches or sausage rolls and salad.

I also like to dip my bread in vinegar, ideally the vinegar from the pickled onions - yum yum yum.

My DS loves fishfinger sandwiches, in my youth I remember eating sugar sandwiches and I love putting salt and vinegar crisps on any sandwich! :Pinkbounc

Yuck - I hate all fish and shellfish so no Caviar or Oysters for me - I've got quite simple taste in food but expensive taste in Champagne!

My daughter does that too and gets very upset if you serve the bread and filling to her separately

My favourite sandwich is fish finger and beetroot.

I also like tinned salmon and beetroot on toast and love a banana sandwich :teeth:

ohh.. cheese and jam is good! esp. white, UK crumbly cheese like wensleydale with blackcurrant or gooseberry jam... mint jelly is good too!

i used to work @ McDonalds while at uni and i always used to open out my burger and put the fries in there, add loads of sauce and eat the burger seperately (whether it was hamburger, chicken, whatever... yum!)

when we were little me and sister used to make our own sarnies... we used mightywhite bread and had jam and squirty cream in them!

Banana sandwich I like too..slightly off subject but I also like raw crumpets, buttered but not toasted.

oh.. and anything like supernoodles, pot noodles, pasta-n-sauce etc is REALLY nice in a sarnie...

p.s. eating half the filling first is half the fun! i always eat any tomatoes, cucumber etc out first...
