What bra would you ladies with full figures or just very well endowed ladies, recommend for the August heat and humidity?

Please give recommendations on both good sports bras that hold you up and wick away moisture as well as a good dressy/sexy bra that pushes you up.

Thanks for your help. I have been searching for a good bra I used to love my Victoria Secrets demi-cup, prepregnancy. Now I am bigger and gravity has not been kind. I switched to vanity fair and now I don't seem to fit these well either. I am a 38 D sometimes a bigger cup depending on the manufacterer of the bra.

Hope you guys can help me out or well in this case... UP!!! LOL

Take a look at the Champions sports bras with Coolmax, I think it's called. They are very good at wicking away perspiration.

I too found myself in a whole new world after pregnancy. I have been very pleased with the Playtex 18 hour bra style 4693. Great support, but no underwire (can't STAND underwires!), and great padded straps. I wear them for exercise as well as "normal" wear, and have no complaints. Most other bras bunch up, or don't support enough, or just plain don't fit well and I find sports bras too constricting.

Good luck, and may I also recommend going to a shop where the sales associates are trained in fitting bras.

I agree with the Platex 18 hour style 4693. I have been wearing this one for years. it has padded straps which are very comfortable.

I am a size....never mind.....but the girls are big if you know what I mean. lol. I don't think it is very cool, but i'd sacrifice cool for comfort on long days.

good luck.. they can be found in most department stores (lazarus, dillards, etc) the best prices are at the hanes, bali factory outlet stores. i have seen them there for about $18- $20.

Wacoal. Best bra in the world. Expensive as the dickens, but hold up well, comfy, make you look decent in a tight t shirt.

I wear the Just My Size bras...they are extremely comfortable as are all their clothes. Come in large sizes and offer great support with no underwire (hate those!!!). They do make some with underwires for those that like them though...Also, they wash and wear well and I never get the under bra rash from sweating like I used to with other bra types.

I swear by the Champion Sports Bras.

Hello,
The above link is for the Llegs Hanes Bali Playtex Online Outlet store.
I buy my bra's there often. If I'm not buying them on line, then I get them at the outlet store. I can tell you that I have the Champion bras
that are the same as the above link and I'm a 38 DD and they fit Great!! Also, you don't even feel them getting moist when it's hot outside! When I was looking at them online, it said that it "wicks moisture away". I thought, yeah, right, but let me try them. I bought 3 in preparation for a sweaty summer and I think I'm going to buy a couple more before my next DisTrip (58 days!) It's very hard to find good bras.
Just for your info, if you're a well-endowed woman like myself, I also get my bathing suits custom made because I can't find ones that fit well at Any store. They're a little more but the point is, They Fit, Well!

An Opinion from a Girl Who Knows

Where do you get your swimsuits made? I have a terrible problem getting a good fit. Big on the top and little on the bottom!

I saw a news-bit on custom made suits and I checked my yellow pages for it. I'm not sure what it's under, bathing suits or work out clothing, but I found one shop 12 years ago and then it closed but then I found another one.
You know those ladies that compete in aerobics and work-out contests? Most of them have their suits custom made, and that's what this store catered to mainly.
I have to say that I did not find a shop listed in my county's phone book, I found it in the county next to mine. I would look on bigyellow.com and look up the words: clothing, bathing suits, work out wear and aerobic wear, or whatever else you think might be related.
They take a digital picture of you and they have a program that measures your body. Then I tried tops and bottoms on in the styles that I liked in different sizes.
I had two c-sections and my ovary taken out, so three abdominal surgeries made my midsection look freakish (whereas the rest of me looks pretty good) so I got the bottoms that come a little over my belly button with (you'll like this) a tummy control panel stitched into the front of the suit!!! I will never get a suit from a regular store again.
My suits cost about $150, but if you go to the major department stores, you're paying about half that, but the suit doesn't fit. So I pay a little more for piece of mind, something that holds me perfect and makes me look great.
Good Luck!

Definately Champions sports bras.

The only issue is they come up very high under the arms. That can be a pain if you are wearing sleeveless.

Other than that - they are the best I have found.

Well, it seems like a lot of the women I saw at WDW last week ditched their bras...well endowed or not, LOL!!! I second the champion sports bra...very comfortable and made to wick away wetness from the heat to keep you cool!!!

Make sure you bring more than one!! (That was advice given to me by someone who returned from Disney even in October who didn't count on the heat.) Bring at least 2-3 so one can be hand washed, one drying and one to wear. After my second pregnancy I almost cried at what happened to my body!! I went to a specialty store so I could get personalized help! :p It really helped me--I had no idea there was a science to it all...;) . It's probably personal preference as well as some basic things like size of the straps, wire versus none, etc. So find a good one and buy at least two of them.

Thank you ladies for all the wonderful advice. It is very true that bra preference is a very subjective thing. I just wanted to see what the general consensus was before I went try some on so that I wouldn't waste so much time.

I think the custom suits sound wonderful. But I don't have time for this before my trip. Corryn you are correct that it is well worth every penny if it fits well. I pay nearly as much for the landsend ones I have purchased.

I do have 5 champion sports bras they are all too stretched out to fit well. I think I will try to find an underwire Champion sportbra as someone from another post suggested.

Also looking at the wacoal on qvc but hesitant to purchase before I try it on. I think I will try to find these at our local department store. Crisi do you know if Wacoal bras are available at a Macy's or Nordstrom?

MandaMom

I buy mine at Nordstrom.

(BTW, I'm not swayed by celebrity endorsements, but when I bought mine, Naomi Judd had bought several of the same bra there the previous week - and she is not small breasted. Neither is Oprah, and its the brand she wears. I did say they aren't cheap, didn't I)

FYI....
This place was recommended to me when I was involved in a workout group. The catalog/company is Title Nine Sports. web is www.title9sports.com

this is great for very large ladies..or the very large chests of !!

They carry Champion and other brands that offer even more support. I've always used the champion (always the one that fastens in the back-never a pullover). I'm planning on trying some of the others for my workouts.

i am full figured on top as well and do not care for sports bras for anything other than working out. when i wear them for long peroids of time i don't care for the way they feel.

I have found a flattering, nice support, not so grandma looking bra at Victoria's Secret. I am not sure of the line, but it is faily new as i just bought one two weeks ago. It is made entirely out of mesh. (NOTE: Dont wear this one with light colored muslin or see thru-ish clothes. The mesh is great for keeping me cool, but can show off a bit much if your shirt is a bit see thru.:o )

It dries in a flash too! (Wore it on a water ride at the beach the other day and it dried nicely while i was wearing it! One of my "regulars" would have been soggy on me for the rest of the day.)

good luck!

- lori
