What bra would you ladies with full figures or just very well endowed ladies, recommend for the August heat and humidity.

Please give me recommendations on both good sports bras that hold you up and wick away moisture as well as a good dressy/sexy bra that pushes you up.

Thanks for your help. I have been searching for a good bra I used to love my Victoria secrets demi-cup prepregnancy and now I am bigger and gravity has not been kind. I switched to vanity fair and now I don't seem to fit these well either. I am a 38 D sometimes a bigger cup depending on the manufacterer of the bra.

Hope you guys can help me out or well in this case... UP!!! LOL ;)

I too am "well endowed". I have found some great cotton underwire bras at Lane Bryant. (They start at 38C) They are also haveing an end of season sale right now with many bras at $12.99 (nothing worse that a hot binding bra in the humidity) Good Luck!

I'm also a 38D and LOVE Body by Victoria's racerback bras. Great support!

I'm a 40 D and I love Lane Bryant's bras. They even have their push up one in cotton now. Definitely worth trying on.

Bra shopping is heck! I hope you find one you like without having to try on the whole mall. :D

Can't help with the type of bra question......but in the summers I always use babypowder/ or perfumed talc power IN my bra's and around to the back on the straps. This prevents the "stickys" and keeps you "cool & dry"

Since having and breastfeeding two kids gravity hasnt been kind to me either. LOL :) For the push up bra , I was told by the Lady at Lane Bryant to get the ones with padding (I was shcoked and said I wear a dd why do I need padding) The name escapes me but I look 10 ponds thinner in them and let me tell ya , they are up there.. LOL For everyday normal wear I love their underwire microfiber normal bra. The trick with the baby powder is a great one. Good Luck. I would go into a Lane Bryant and tell them what you want and they will get you what you need.

now after baby #3, I got new ones-38D. I can't remember the brand, but I can tell you I got them at the Florida Premium Outlets on sale/clearance, at great prices. There is a bra store in there that is wonderful! I dragged DH in there when I was preggo, and I think that's the only reason he didn't give me a hard time about all my shopping!

Thank you so much to everyone for the very informative responses. I too love the Lane Bryant bras. The cotton ones w/underwire. The only problem is that the underwire always slips out of mine. Happened to the last 4 I have bought. Within 2 weeks of purchase maximum. I do love the fit while the underwire stays in. I will try the microfiber ones.

I will also have to try on the Victoria's secret racerback bra.

And will definitely take a look at the outlets in Orlando when we get there.

I really appreciate everyone's advice. It is very daunting to have to go in cold turkey. I usually don't like the fit of the "full figure" bras in most department stores. They usually feel very uncomfortable sort of like I'm putting on armor or something.

I'm hoping to lose more weight so I just want to purchase a couple of bras. (Although normally when I lose weight I don't lose "there". ) Hmmm just as long as I keep reducing my dreaded, well what I like to call "back-boobs" LOL :)

I'll go bra shopping this weekend and update everyone on my progress.

I've had great luck with a line made by Playtex called Intimates. Their bras come in underwire and non-underwire styles and go up to 50+ B-EE. They don't have many color choices but they always have white, black, and beige. You can get them at Kohl's, Penney's, Mervyns (almost anywhere they carry playtex) and through many catalogs.

I firmly believe that bra's were invented by men to make women miserable. Really....I've worn one for over thirty years and gravity still has taken its toll! I also want to go on the record as stating that men made thongs, too...for obvious reasons. Can't even imagine wearing one even if I wasn't fluffy!

I trick I use on really hot days or when I will be out and know I will be sweaty is to spray some deodorant under my Bra line in the front.

What a great trick. I think I will try the deodorant I can't believe I am going back to DW again in August.

QVC also has a brand called Breezies. It has this lining that pulls the moisture away from the breast and pulls it towards the front of the bra. I like them, had to take the wire out though, all wire bras poke me in the side of the arm, go figure.

I'm enjoying this thread. I too need good support although I think I'm a bit bigger than some of you at 40 DD. I'm happy with the Playtex cross your heart. I can't stand underwire. I may have to try some of the bras at Lane Bryant. Thanks for the info. I'm going to try the deoderant trick!! Thanks for posting!

The best bra I've ever found is the bodysuede model by Wacoal. Only problem is, these bras are EXPENSIVE--about $50 (although I've been lucky enough to find them a couple of times at Nordrstroms off the Rack in the $20 range).

BTW, I feel your pain, OP. Before I got pregnant I was in a 38DD. Now that I'm breastfeeding I'm a 40H--and you're not supposed to wear underwires when you're nursing. HA! If I didn't, my (o) (o) would be around my knees :p I've bought 4 different bras trying to find a decent one and I've still had no luck.

Champion makes a great Sports bra--underwire, so it doesn't produce the "meatloaf" effect. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact name.

I DO know it isn't cotton (cotton holds moisture to your skin) and I paid around $25 for mine on sale at Kohls. A little more expensive than I would have liked, but I got these things for years, so I'd better take care of them....

oh my gosh minnienadmickey I have the same problem with the underwire!! I always take it out too.
I also suggest lane bryant, they have full figure sizes but still have some style.

I'm a 44DD and buy Playtex and bras from Lane Bryant and JCPenney. It has taken me quite some time to find ones that I like. Usually right when I'm used to the type I want, the manufacturer goes and makes some sort of change to them then I don't like them anymore (ie. playtex use to make a good maximizer with underwire - then one day about 1 1/2 years ago they took out the underwire. If I don't have an underwire, my boobs begin to slip out from underneath.) I also like the selection of bras that JCPenny has because there are so many. I say go there and try them on. As for sportsbras, I have yet to see one that will last on me more the 6 weeks. I've never tried the deoderant but have tried the baby powder which did work for me for a bit but in overly hot heat certainly doesn't last very long. You can always bring a small baby powder in the parks and put a little on when you go to the bathroom. Good luck.

You'll go crazy over the BREEZIES from QVC.

www.iqvc.com

They definitely keep you dry and they have all sorts of beautiful, comfortable and sexy bra's.

You can go online and see the whole selection.

They also carry the Wacoal bras too, at a much cheaper price.

BREEZIES also comes in undies too that wick away the wetness.

Go for it!!!!

:)

Can't help with the sexy type. But I wear Playtex 18 - hour with confront straps because, well it is the only one I can find that fits (42 DDD). I order then from JCPenny.com (because thats the only place I can find them). I envy those smaller busted women who can just run to Walmart and pick up any 'ol bra.
