Strange question about Maxpass and AP Renewal.

So I have a strange question I'm hoping someone here might have an answer to. I need to renew our current AP's that expire early next month (10/06). They just so happen to expire in the middle of our trip (10/04-10/08), so I thought about calling in, or renewing via the website now to avoid going to the ticket booth.

I currently do NOT have the MaxPass benefit. I didn't do the $75 upcharge for MaxPass yet, but I want to purchase it for this trip. (I think you know where I'm going with this).

If I renew now, and purchase the $75 MaxPass benefit before my current passes expire on 10/06, does the benefit continue and last until the next expiration date in 2018, or will the benefit end with my current AP expiration date of 10/06?

It worked for me.

I have SoCal Select, expiring on August 25. I went on July 31st, which was a blackout day. I renewed the pass, added MP for $75, and got a block out exception pass.

I checked with the CM at Ticketing to ensure that MP would be good until Aug 25, 2018. She assured me that it would be, and I have been to the parks since Aug 25, and verified that the MP benefit still works.

Of course, that doesn't exactly match your situation, and policies may have changed since then.
