This is in response to another post in which a DVC owner said they had a 69 points contract at one of the resorts. I wondered why they had bought such a "non-round" number...

My family has a 52 point contract at HH to be used for either studio nights (in multiples of 13) or 1-BR nights (in multiples of 26)in the summer months. :cool2:

I am curious to find out if their are other owners with add-ons in amounts that are not multiples of 10 (which I would guess are most common).

Any other strange point # add-on owners out there? (Say that 5 times fast! :mic: )

We added 666 :stir: Speaks volumes I think.....

Just kidding.... We're round as it gets for add-ons - 0 :)

I've owned 232, 270, 50, 100 (4 * 25) and 333. To be honest, all were resale so I didn't make the decision to buy odd but I understand they were all figured as yours, because of the number of points required for a given option. The other reason I've seen is for the sold out resorts when people buy through DVC. Say they wanted 100 points but Disney only had 78 to sell in their UY and desired resort at the time.

We added 83 to our original 160. This will allow 7 days in a 1 Bedroom at SSR any time of year except Easter and Christmas weeks (then we will have to bank and borrow for these). All were bought directly through DVC.

I think Diane bought 69 points so she could get AKV every other year or every third year and I think she wanted CL as well. She has other OKW points and she sold some OKW points to buy AKV.

My 165 HH contract is in multiples of 33 - so I can stay 5 nights in a 2BR during the summer, or one weekend during the same time. My 165 BCV contract was a resale, but I figured if we didn't want to go to WDW one year I would have better luck using those points at HH at the 7 month mark for a Friday and Saturday night 2BR summer stay.

My 100 AKV contract was just a nice round number!!

You were almost right, Deb. We did buy 69 points at AKV because of the numbers needed to do an every third year ressie in a 2 bedroom in our favorite season. We did not, however, sell any precious OKW points to do it. We did talk about it, but that was when we were planning on buying a full AKV contract instead of a smaller "odd number" add on. We actually opted for the odd number add on because I couldn't bear to give up one of our OKW contracts. Now I'm thinking I should have purchased a full AKV contract and maybe sold one OKW contract, but it wouldn't have been an even trade, so I'm sticking with what we have (odd number and all) and plannign to try at the 7 month window occationally too.

LOL, maybe we can coin a new term here....an "odd on" contract!!!

:rotfl: What did I get - I can't remember! Maybe 100 developer's points?
Or an $8 per point discount most likely. This was the only reason I bought 100 instead of 50-60. And it is the reason I bought in 25 point increments, so I could sell part later if I wanted.

I bought a 69 point contract because that was all that was available for my UY. I wanted more points. It is actually split up in a 33/36 point contracts because they were in different buildings or something like that my guide said. I wanted to do 100pts or two 50's but it was not available. I will probably wait list for more.

Yep, my 100 AKV points are 50/50, for the same reason. Although now that I've gotten a new add-on email, it's looking like it might be time to add 50 more instead of selling 50 original some day!!!

We bought a 41 point resale contract at Vero from an English couple. I'm assuming it was enough points for an every couple of years visit.

LOL, so there are actually TWO of us with "odd"-on contracts of 69 points!!!

That describes our HH contract. 76 points is all they had left for an Oct. UY, so that's what we took.:)
Now with our BCV of 105 points, that we did to ourselves:lmao:

Any particular reason behind/thought going into the #105?
