Strange incident at Epcot today

Anarchist? Naww....just a simple pervert. :p

Here...in case you're feeling alone I'll join you in sharing a few of my all time favorite Disney pics of an unknown child. :goodvibes

-snip-

If you saw me taking these pics would you have forced me to delete them? I probably would have refused.

I'm not trying to make fun of anyone but gosh, the world has become so paranoid it's really sad for us all. Seeing fear in the eyes of a child when you simply say "hello" to them just breaks my heart.

I agree. I have also taken pictures of children while in the parks because they've been just so darn cute! In FACT I did once during the parade christmas parade taping a few years ago and one of the pictures got posted on the boards with the many others I took. The child's mom was a Diser! I had no clue... but she asked me for the rest of the pictures and was grateful that I took them!

Maybe it's because I don't have children myself but it just breaks my heart how we immediately jump to pervert as a society. I don't understand how admiration is equivalent to sexual desire. If I'm admiring a child's costume, outfit or just how stinkin adorable they are that doesn't mean anything other than "how cute is that!".

Oh... what darling photos!

Your last line reminded me of a story I saw in the news last year. An old fellow was sitting in his truck, waiting for his wife to finish shopping. He smiled at a little boy walking by. He did not get out of his vehicle. He did not ask the child to come closer or make any other suspicious move. Nonetheless, the kid panicked and began screaming that the man was trying to kidnap him. The police were called, and the old man was arrested on the spot and taken down to the station, leaving his wife to wonder where he'd disappeared to. Of course, ultimately he was released without charges. But that didn't make up for the fact that everyone saw him being hauled off in cuffs as a child predator.

Hearing that story, I felt bad for the old guy. He was on TV saying, "You can't even smile at them any more!" I also felt awful for the child, who is already living in such a state of constant fear that he can't tell who the real bad guys are.

Ok. I was trying to express that I only made just a general statement because the pp was being extreme in his "you don't own me mode."

And would everyone (the people bent on telling me I'm "sol" etc.) be happy if I changed my story, and have the photographer yell "I'm not your property!" take a bunch of inappropriate pictures of my children and then hit me on the head with his camera? Because that's not what happened, I'm sorry. I wasn't SOL, and I hate to break it to you, I'd never be SOL if I saw a person I didn't like taking a picture of my children. Don't you hear I'm chasing everyone down these days? By the way, if you're just tuning in, I'm NOT the OP. I was just relating a story that the OP remined me of, that turned out well, and it's very upsetting to some. And that's ok too.
So exactly what do you plan to do when someone refuses to delete the picture? Eventually, it will happen if you continue tkaing your children to public places like theme parks and objecting when someone takes thier picture, so unless you plan to commit assualt ther will in fact be a time that someone will take a photo of your child and refuse to delete it when you ask. Security or the police cannot make them delete it, that would be illegal, so what do you plan to do about it?

I sure that what ever it is we will all see and read about it on the six o'clock news the day it happens;)

"Women at WDW goes ballistic after having pictures of her children taken with out her permission":rolleyes1

:lmao:

Actually, I did have recourse. I asked the man to delete the picture and he did.

Sorry to burst the bubble but unfortunately you did not have any recourse. He could have told you to take a hike and there wouldn't be much you could do about it.

Again, I'm sorry that exactly what I wanted to happen happened, and with ease. If it makes you feel better for me to say that yes, any number of things could have happened that I didn't want to happen, and that I couldn't control, I'm happy to say that for you. I'm feeling like you feel the need to attack me, and I'm not sure why, but I hope it ends here, because I'm not harboring any resentments towards anyone, even those that did get personal with me.

I'm not sure... I couldn't find it online, or I would have given a link. I just remember watching it on the news and my mother-in-law making those, "oh, oh, oh!" sounds she makes when she's upset about something. So it was probably a northern Canadian town.

We don't know that it was a scam. I thought the OP just got a junk email with a bunch of links.

I can add to that. I was actually a victim of abuse, and I still didn't see an issue with what the guy did in the OP's post. Due to my background, I tend to be very wary, but I just didn't see it here. :confused3
