Strange happenings at Milesourse?

I was just wondering if anyone else is getting a floating square with an ad that says: "Tired of long hours at the office?" It's a cartoon man with a black checkered background. It doesn't have a window frame, so you can't close it & when you try to click on some of the links that are close to the floating square, you get a popup window with an ad for working from home.

I don't get this from any other sites, so is it from Milesourse or is it something else, like a virus? (Which I might already have, my computer has been difficult lately)

Anyway, if anyone has any insite, let me know...

I see it too. It's annoying and floats around the screen.

It doesn't float around the screen, but it does sit right in the middle of the screen. It's "convenient" location causes me to lose my click fix points - that box is always located right in the middle of the screen.

The same thing is happening to me.It is really annoying. I even tried play Milehunter with that thing stuck in the middle of the screen.It was impossible! I swear there's always something with Milesource.I wonder why they are doing that?

you only have one box so far I have two one located directly over my clickfix bar....ok now I clicked on Trivia and it disappeared.

I have 2 too, Mal and one is located right over the log in screen. I can't even log in!

I'm getting it too. Sometimes one and sometimes two. It has to be on their site, I'm getting it nowhere else. If they don't want people visiting, this is a sure way to accomplish that. No use emailing them, they never answer.

I'm getting one or two as well. If you wait a little bit they should disappear. It's a newer type of ad similar to pop-up windows, but you can't close them, you can only wait them out. I've seen them on other sites like weather.com, boston.com and ivillage.com. I guess the advertisers got hip to us just closing pop-up windows w/o seeing the ads and have found a way to get around that. Now we have no choice but to sit through them

It would be my guess that the advertisers pay more for these types of ads since we can't close them like pop-up windows. Do I like them - no. But if it means milesource doesn't go under or they don't raise the cash out levels, I can live with it.

it is also SPYWARE

right click on it and you will see it is trying to access your mircophone and camera if you have one.

Also be sure and run ADware to remove it.

Right mouse click
choose settings
choose deny and remember and then click the little eye on the screen below

I don't think gets rid of it altogether - you may have to do this every time ...but I'm not sure

Hi Guys -

Maleficient is correct. It is spyware which is one reason I hate Explorer as a browser. Download Netscape 7.0 and you won't have any problems. I just finally did it this morning because I couldn't stand it anymore!

I just did Milesource for today (6:47pm) and I didn't have any ugly pop-ups!

Hopefully everyone e-mailing helped them realize that it was a HUGE problem. Thanks for helping me make sure I'm not TOTALLY nuts!
